“Well… you coming?” “Where to?” “Oh, just the North Pole.” 🎅🏼❄️✨ life deserves to be romanticized for absolutely no reason. Start with 2–3 nights in Helsinki. Wander the harbor, eat well, learn a little history, find a good bar, and yes, do karaoke because apparently that is now part of the Finnish cultural curriculum. 😂🍸🎤 Then board the overnight Santa Claus Express north. Wake up to snowy Finland outside your window and continue to Rovaniemi, Kittilä or Saariselkä. Stay in a glass igloo or Arctic cabin. Sit in a sauna. Get into an outdoor hot tub while it’s freezing. Chase pink skies and fairy lights. 🌌🫧 🐕 Husky sled through the forest 🦌 Meet reindeer and learn about northern traditions 🎅🏼 Visit Santa Claus Village, cross the Arctic Circle and send an actual letter from the North Pole 🎿 Ski for a few hours 🎣 Try ice fishing 🥾 Snowshoe through silent forests 🍲 Eat local, warm, simple food 🌌 Chase the aurora with people who actually understand weather and cloud cover ☕ Drink far too much coffee 🍟 And yes, visit the very northern McDonald’s because clearly this is important research Go with family. Go with friends. Take the kids. Take the adults who secretly still believe in magic. Because the best part isn’t just Santa or the aurora. It’s waking up somewhere impossibly white. I left Tanzania over a week ago, but apparently my heart stayed behind somewhere between a lion cub, a tiny bossy elephant, and one more impossible Serengeti sunset. 🥹🐘🦁🌅🤎 Five days across the Tanzanian wild with @shiri_adventures Two nights in the Serengeti, two around Lake Manyara, moving through Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire. Long dusty drives, early mornings, endless skies, laughter, silence, and that strange feeling of being very small in a world that never belonged to us in the first place. 📸✨These photographs? @fahad_fuad He was the photographer for our group, magical wizard behind the lens. Thank you for creating memories for us of an entire lifetime 🙏🏾 Coming home is strange. Jet lag. Work. Laundry. Real life rushing back in before you’ve had time to understand what just happened. Then you see the photos. Lion cubs tumbling over each other like the savannah is their playground. 🦁 A tiny elephant marching around with the confidence of someone who clearly believes it owns the entire continent. 🐘😂 Giraffes moving quietly through the grass. Zebras fading into the horizon. Hyenas, jackals, warthogs, antelope, monkeys, hippos, and birds in colors that barely looked real. 🦅✨ Yes, we saw the Big Five. But safari was never just about the Big Five. It was watching mothers protect their babies. Cubs learning courage. Elephants communicating without words. Birds calling before you could even find them. Animals simply living their lives. Eating. Playing. Resting. Surviving. And that is what stayed with me most. They belong on this planet just as much as we do. 🌍🤍 We owe them respect. Space. Protection. We owe it to this earth to honor wildlife not as entertainment, but as life that has every right to exist beside us. There was something deeply humbling about watching the savannah go on without needing anything from us. No performance. No hurry. Just life. Autumn called. I was already dressed. 🍂🤍 A season for softer mornings, colder air, warmer food, longer walks, better boundaries, and remembering that slowing down is not the same thing as falling behind. So this fall, I’m keeping self-care simple: 🍁 Take a long walk with no destination No step goal. No workout. Just air, leaves, and nowhere urgent to be. ☕ Have one slow coffee a week No laptop. No doom scrolling. Just sit there and exist for a minute. 📚 Read something completely useless A novel. Poetry. A travel book. Anything that does not promise to optimize your life. 🌲 Go on a solo foliage drive Favorite playlist, back roads, no plan. Pull over when something looks beautiful. 🍎 Visit a farm market, orchard, cider mill or pumpkin patch Not because you need anything. Because seasonal wandering is good for the soul. 🧺 Take yourself on a tiny picnic Coffee + pastry absolutely counts. 📵 Have one offline evening No email. No social media. No “quick check.” 📝 Write down what you’re done carrying One page. No perfect journal required. 💌 Send an actual handwritten note Tiny effort. Weirdly lovely. 🧖🏽‍♀️ Try a thermal spa, sauna or hammam Cold air + hot water = elite. 🌿 Try forest bathing Walk slowly. Notice things. Do not turn it into cardio. 😂 🌅 Watch one sunset without photographing the entire thing Take the photo. Then put the phone down. 🎨 Take a class you’re bad at Pottery. Painting. Baking.
