Stillness isn’t passive. It’s not weakness, and it’s not giving up.

It’s sacred defiance, refusal to let a world built on our exhaustion have the final word.

Our foremothers knew this. They knew rest as resistance, breath as prayer, quiet as power. That wisdom lives in your body too, waiting for you to slow down long enough to hear it.

So today: breathe in for 4, hold for 4, release for 6. And ask yourself where in your body do you feel God’s stillness right now?

The job told staff we needed to get some volunteer hours in and report back in our in the staff meeting….. I took it a step further and hooked up with one of our national mission institutions Moore Community House, Women In Construction and got training, certified as well got to volunteer with Mississippi Heroes. We were responsible for building the modules/framing for ramps that will be gifted to those who need them. Went in for service and to learn about what it is our NMI does so I can better tell their story, came out with new sisters! Itz #ThankYouTuesday ……today we’re thankful for Theeee Dr. Evelyn Parker, who has been shaping, guiding, and inspiring me since I was 16, over 2 decades! She’s corrected me with love as well creates space for me rather to rest or learn and I’m grateful she started PYST so I could attend and took me under her wing and hasn’t been able to shake me since! Your body is not overreacting. It’s paying attention.**

If you’ve ever felt “too much” in a room that was actually too much,too loud, too political, too indifferent to your humanity, that wasn’t dysfunction. That was your nervous system doing exactly its job.

We spend so much energy trying to regulate ourselves *into* environments that were never built with our safety in mind. But regulation isn’t about tolerating harm more gracefully. It’s about staying anchored enough to see clearly, choose wisely, and leave when you need to.

This week, try this: the next time your body tenses in a meeting, a family gathering, a group chat, pause before you push the feeling down. Ask it what it’s noticing. Your nervous system might be the most honest colleague you have.

Some weeks that looks like a pulpit. Some weeks it looks like a camp bus, a client shoot, a farm row, or a hard conversation. It’s still obedience. You don’t need a new identity to walk it out you need to trust the one God already gave you.

📓 Journal it: name ONE place you’re being asked to simply walk right now. Not perform. Not prove. Just walk.

Monday isn’t a villain. It’s not “the real world” crashing back in. It’s just a fresh drop,same as it’s been every single day since forever, because God’s mercy doesn’t run out, it renews. Lamentations said it first: new every morning. I’m just translating.

So today, instead of white-knuckling through your inbox, try this: say out loud, “I’m not behind, I’m just beginning.” Then pour your coffee like it’s a whole ceremony, because it kind of is.

They counted the losses. Kept score on every “no,” every closed door, every season that looked like it wasn’t working. And baby, they weren’t wrong about the tally, I FELT every single mark.

But delay was never denial. And the folks writing me off never had the full script.

This comeback won’t be a fluke. It was always the plan. 🕊️

I wasn’t ready when I was called. I’m still not “ready” by the world’s standards. But I’ve learned that readiness was never the requirement availability was.

Moses had a stutter. Esther didn’t ask for the palace. Mary hadn’t planned any of this. None of them felt ready. All of them said yes anyway (some took longer than others but the yes came lol)

If you’ve been sitting on a calling because you don’t have the degree, the title, the healed wounds, or the figured-out life, this one is for you. There is no wrong season to say yes.

#ThankfulTuesday….If you know this one here, I guarantee you’ve been blessed! This one here has my direct line and when I see Miss Sharon Spratt name come across my screen followed with a “Hey Bestie!” I know I’m about to be blessed in whatever she needs me engaged with. She has been a great leader, mentor, and activator. She guided me when I was just a member serving in leadership with the North Texas Conference to still making sure I’m giving the best I can. When I saw her in my workshop I said to myself “oh I gotta make sure this is good and make my bonus mom proud!” And extra bonus a lot of my bonus moms, aunties, granny’s, and sisters got to meet my mom at assembly….anywho this is getting long, Thank You! Miss Sharon for being one of the best parts of membership and continuing to inspire, influence, and make an impact on me and the communities you serve! #membership #thankful by @deaconess_kp
