Take a child.

Raise him without love.
Have him spend every day longing to be loved. Vowing over and over again "if I ever find people who love me I will love them so MUCH that they will never feel as unloved as I do"

Now put him in adult relationships. With that intensity and expectations.
See what happens when people cannot love him as much as he loves them.

Not because they don't love him.
Not because they don't have time or don't care.
But because while their idea of love was crafted in a home, his was crafted in a place of unrelenting pain, conflict, and fear.

War.

And because of it his love is a psychopath. A perpetually disappointed, frustrated psychopath in pain. Who loves too hard and too much because he will never let the people he loves feel as unloved as he did when he was learning what love was.

The headline reads: "Fire devil: the president who burned his country"

Trump wants to watch the world burn so that it will NEVER forget him.

For the longest time, I thought greed was his defining sin.
I was wrong.

It's vanity. Pride.

More than hate, more than greed. The man's ego is monstrous and insatiable. It is a void from which no soul - certainly not his own - could endure. It consumes EVERYTHING in its path.

Simply put, he wants to be a god.

He's willing to "settle" for king.

But he's more than happy to encourage his devotees to believe he's the second coming like some of them *actually* do!

People keep treating Trump like a political opponent and THAT'S why they lose.
That's why they CONSTANTLY underestimate the man. Because his aspirations go far beyond what politics can classify.
He's not a political figure; he's a cult leader.
A wannabe god.

And trying to use politics to defeat religion especially fanatical religion is like pissing on a brush fire and expecting it to go out.

So if you're going to fight someone like that, you need to be prepared to take extreme measures.

The democrats of the 21st century are still trying to play the moderate. Still trying to appeal to as broad a base as possible, the neutral voters, the undecided. And what they fail to understand is that there ARE no neutral voters.

They should have gone as far left as they possibly could. Bernie Sanders as VP, anything. Everything.

Because Trump has successfully transformed politics into a religion. And half measures and moderates do not do well against fanatics.

However before you give up all hope. Please remember that as much as Trump wishes otherwise he's not king of America.

There are still checks and balances in place that, yes, probably won't stop him cold like when he tried to cut food stamps, but they will slow him down.

The truth is that time is not on his side. He's getting old. Sick. Demented. More importantly you can only full throttle your way through world politics before the rest of the world decides to bitch slap you with enough embargos that we will all starve to death.

Obviously in that case, he'll be deposed. Because the Republicans are not united despite appearances. They're simply better at keeping their in fighting out of the public eye better than the democrats. Because they NEED to appear like a solid monolith of unstoppable power because otherwise they'll be burned at the stake.

I'm not suggesting today's events in Iowa aren't horrifying. It is. Without question. And I'm not even suggesting that we're not utterly fucked.

I'm suggesting that there's a chance that this could course correct by utilizing the most fundamental instinct of all: more than money or religion or anything.
Survival.

Now obviously COVID proved that a lot of these dumb fucks are willing to die for the cause. So be it. But that's Covid. It's all sciency and intellectual. It can be argued against or denied completely.

Famine is a religious experience. Granted so is pestilence but here's the difference.

*Everyone* believes in hunger.

You can argue against a disease if you're a moron. But when the fat starts to melt of their bones - and their children's bones - because the world has collectively cut us off? by @deaconrayne
