Breguet was acquired by Investcorp in 1987 and one year later Breguet released the 3350. This reference was one of the first generally available wristwatches with a tourbillon (AP beating them by a few years). The movement was developed in partnership between the renowned Daniel Roth, working for Breguet, and Lemania. Sometime after 1995 the reference changed to the 3357 despite minor changes to the model.

Breguet must have changed their reference number system in the 90’s because today a “7” signifies a display caseback and “0” signifies a closed case back. So if you see a 3350 with a display case back, don’t worry - that appears to be the way they came. Despite the reference number change there were somewhat minor changes to the watch, i.e. changing over from index regulated to free sprung sometime in the 2000’s, signed dial “Swiss guilloche main” on the right side and signed crown sometime in the early 90’s maybe 80’s... multiple engraving variations of the main plate mostly in the 90’s, and changes to the pin layout of the gear train from a triangle formation to a straight line foration sometime in the 2000’s.

Breguet was then sold to the Swatch Group in 99. The 3357 is still in production today and is my FaVoRiTe in my collexion. These Breguet tourbillons have hand engraved dials made of gold and finished in silver, cold-rolled gold case flanks that are hand polished, and a fitting 35mm size that wears like a 38mm.

@chaotictheorist and I took a red eye to Geneva! Whoa what a flight! We had the pleasure of meeting truly wonderful and inspiring people of the watchmaking motherland. There are of course an overwhelming amount of watches, boutiques, workshops and museums abound. However the one experience that stood out was visiting @simon_brette_watches ! Seeing the Chronomètre Artisans in person was unbelievable. @robsbis @master_horloger thank you both for a lovely experience ☺️ by @deadbeatseconds

The Zodiac Z09401 “gulf” Aerospace GMT was introduced at Baselworld 2019 and made waves. Zodiac released this as a reissue to their 1966 Aerospace GMT (case based on sea wolf). The original Aerospace was released in two color ways - Pepsi and a grey/black bezel. In 2019 Zodiac released grey/black and orange/blue configurations. The “gulf” color adds something fresh and I love that Bakelite looking bezel. It’s colorful without being loud and its the perfect summertime watch. Enjoy your damn summer boys!
