🎸⋆⭒˚ PUBLIC HEALTH OVER CORPORATE WEALTH: Rock Out for Solomon!!! ⋆⭒˚

🎨 flyers designed by @deadnyce

hey everyone!! we’re back with ANOTHER benefit concert to show some love to our neighbors. this October, join us for a backyard bash in Hackensack to raise funds for our friend’s relative, Solomon! swipe ➡️ or read below to learn more about the cause we’re supporting 🌟

. ꕤ ｡ ˚⋆ ABOUT SOLOMON . ꕤ ｡ ˚⋆

“My name is Gbemi and I am raising money on behalf of my brother in law, Solomon, who is very sick. We are reaching out with hope during a difficult time as he faces serious medical challenges and the financial burden that comes with treatment and recovery.

The cost of medical care for surgery medications, and related expenses has become overwhelming. He needs surgery for nerve and brain damage. We are asking for support to help ease this financial burden so he can focus on healing and spending time with his loved ones. We are looking to raise about 15K to cover all expenses.

Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, we would be deeply grateful if you could keep him in your prayers and share this fundraiser with others. Your kindness, generosity, and support mean so much to our family during this challenging time. We appreciate any support you are able to give.”

“This is what horror tells us — that in the collective unconscious of all women are psychic wounds so deep and raw that even to brush against them is to become a conduit for their primal violence... We self-censor our every reaction, debating endlessly with ourselves over which thoughts are permitted and which are forbidden or unclean... Perhaps that’s why, after so long spent boiling within us under such terrible and unrelenting pressure, women’s desires hold such power to fascinate and terrify.”
– Gretchen Felker-Martin

“The phenomenon of female anger has often been turned against itself, the figure of the angry woman reframed as threat [...] She conjures a lineage of threatening archetypes: the harpy and her talons, the witch and her spells, the medusa and her writhing locks. The notion that female anger is unnatural or destructive is learned young; children report perceiving displays of anger as more acceptable from boys than from girls.
– LESLIE JAMISON, “I Used to Insist I Didn’t Get Angry. Not Anymore.”

“For all of the grotesqueness, the girl-monster is an appealing figure. This is the ambiguity of the abject. Female monsters, like the possession victim discussed by Creed, act radically outside the bounds of expected female behavior. Monstrousness, like possession, is ‘the excuse for legitimizing a display of aberrant feminine behavior which is depict by @deadnyce

one year of Too Awake to Sleep / For the Ones Who Go Away.

not easy songs to write. not easy to make. if it weren’t for my incredible producers @chrisgilroy and @seldaandderek, i don’t know if i would’ve emotionally been able to complete these two. they’re thanks to your encouragement.

many memories. thank you @deadnyce for the gorgeous animated MV to TATS. @asideofcello thank you for your gorgeous strings on FTOWGA that me cry in the stu. @rfm.photos thank you for your gorgeous photography that encapsulated the vision of this RC era.

more to look forward to. thx for your patience if you’ve been patient. thx for your indifference too. i love making music and i can’t wait for what’s next to be yours.
