Attention skaters! Join us this Tuesday the 21st for go skate day! First, we will be hosting a skate jam at the Daly St. skatepark starting at 4:00 pm. 𝗜𝗳 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗮𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗢𝗻 (𝟭𝟮 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗶 𝗦𝘁. 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝟲).

Following the jam at 7:30, join us at Dead On for pizza and drinks as we watch 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀, one of the most iconic skateboard movies ever made. Fights ✅; family drama ✅; good skating ✅; Street Dreams has it all. Most movies made about skateboarding are corny and recycle the same coming-of-age storyline. Street Dreams is brave enough to stay in that exact same lane. The film tells the story of a teenage skateboarder trying to achieve their dream of becoming a professional skater. Street Dreams features a cast of well-known professional skaters such as Paul Rodriguez, Rob Dyrdek, Ryan Sheckler, and many more. Join us for a laugh as we experience one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces made about skateboarding! taken in Dead On by @deadon.collective

Transworld: Free Your Mind this Wednesday at Dead On, doors open at 7:30pm.

We all have a video that we watched on repeat growing up skating. For Eric that video was Transworld: Free Your Mind. Busting that early 2000s skate video weirdness and clips at iconic SF skate spots, Free Your Mind is a gem from its time and holds up surprisingly well 20 years later.

Featuring skating from Dan Drehobl, Darrell Stanton and Rob Welsh with cameos from Tony Trujillo and Frank Gerwer. The skating is great and the music is even better.

Join us Wednesday May 25th at 7:30 for Transworld: Free Your Mind and a ramp skate session following the video.

Neon fever dream has always been my favorite way to describe the work of @ultramedium to others. His newest paintings move beyond the fever into an uneasy serenity. Honestly he is one of my favorite artists in town and it would be a shame to miss this show.
.
Go check out Lee's show, Canada Obscura, at @s22opengallery until May 6th

Join us on April 28th at 7:30 pm for the first Skate Video Night at Dead On!

We will be viewing the first full-length video released in 2018 from Converse Purple. The rise of the internet has led to solo video parts becoming prevalent due to diminishing returns on video sales. This makes full-length videos increasingly rare. Purple showcases incredible skateboarding captured by one of the most iconic filmmakers of the past decade, Ben Chadourne. The video features a variety of skateboard styles from notable skaters such as Jake Johnson, Louie Lopez, Bobby Dekeyzer, Milton Martinez, Sean Pablo, and many more. This video shows that there is still value to the full-length video format.

Skate Video Night has been created to build community within the Kingston skateboard scene. We want to create an inclusive environment where all skateboarders feel welcome regardless of their skill level. Our goal is to unite the skateboarders in Kingston by discussing the culture of skateboarding, videos we enjoy, and bond through a mutual love of skateboarding. It is our hope that these connections will strengthen the bonds within our community and lead to making it a better place for everyone. "There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about." – Margaret J. Wheatley

Viewing starts at 7:30 pm

12 Cataraqui St

Popcorn and drinks will be available by donation.

Bring your board if you would like to join in on a little ramp session after the vid.

Disclaimer: This video features three skateboarders who have serious allegations against them for abuse and racism. The three skateboarders we are referring to are Kenny Anderson, Al Davis, and Jason Jessee. We do not condone the actions of these three individuals. There are no reasons or excuses for this type of behaviour. We at Dead On feel it is important to be aware of these issues to break the cycle and make skateboarding a safe and inviting space for everyone. We cannot stop issues within skateboarding by sweeping them under the rug. We wish to create a dialogue to discuss problematic issues within skateboarding and find ways they can be resolved. taken in Dead On by @deadon.collective
