Good news and bad news folks:

The good, the doors are almost wrapped up and I promise y’all, you’re going to have try the rebuilt door handles FMR did. I’ve never felt so perfect handles in my life. According to Matt, they feel the exact same as a car with 3 miles on it that he got to see. Interior is almost done with the car with Della running the last of the radio and amp wiring. Also, I picked up today the freshly Jet Hot coated GT40 tubular intake.

So the bad, I fucked up the pistons. I originally planned on using the stock heads and didn’t account for the larger valves of the SVO Y303 heads + the dynamic compression of the boost from the supercharger. Spec-ed out, the setup was going to be 10.5:1 without the supercharger. Matt multiple times asked if I did the math right and that these pistons were for a GT40 head and i repeatedly said yes bc I’m a goober. So I gotta order new pistons and have them installed on the rods.

The reality is that the FHP won’t be done for Foxtoberfest Car Show. I just can’t push my friends nor myself to make that deadline & plan to just focus on having it ready to reveal at PITS 2027. It also means I won’t be at Foxtoberfest this year. Between gas prices & extra costs (aka my errors and defective parts) of the FHP build, I just don’t have good justification to be at the show. If I’m working in Charlotte that week, I might stop by the Prestige & Brewery event, but that’s it. Otherwise, I’ll catch folks at PITS 2027. Sorry for letting anyone down with expectations of seeing the FHP or myself.
