i could not have asked for a better time doing my first ever cosplay ⋆˙⟡ selena corey - my hysterical main character queen, i love you!

hand sewing, ink staining, wig styling, makeup testing, blood painting: it was SO MUCH WORK, but i loved learning new crafts and i’m so proud of being brave enough to be imperfect at something ⛓️

— also huge thank you to @martinjuancarlo for literally taking the train to my apartment in the morning so i wouldn’t have to travel to the con by myself looking crazy taken in New York Comic Con by @deadwit

highlights ✶⋆.˚
* fell in love with drawing again & started drawing for myself (after years!!!)
* made new friends with very hot and cool people
* branched out of my comfort zone and played so many new video games (dragon age, my beloved)
* made a more conscious effort to show up for my friends ༄.°
* turned 30 — surrounded by so much love that i cried

this year was actually really horrible and frustrating and i shall be very glad to see the end of it, BUT there were some moments that i will hugely cherish !!! ִֶָ. ..𓂃 ִֶָ🦇་༘࿐ by @deadwit

as an emo theatre nerd, with a love of monsters, i’ve always adored phantom of the opera 🥀⟡₊ ⊹ to experience this immersive retelling at @masqueradenyc with @mibsie was SO beautiful and emotional — i cried several times!! i have been fundamentally changed! i will be floating on a high for the rest of the year! taken in Masquerade New York by @deadwit

it’s our ten year anniversary today. in mathematical terms, that means i’ve spent over one-third of my life loving sam ⋆.˚⟡ ࣪ ˖

it’s so easy to be together now that sometimes i forget how awful it was before — the long-distance, the three weeks we’d see each other a year, the endless (!!!!!) amounts of immigration paperwork, the multiple visa interviews. (the sharing of one twin bed when i was studying abroad in london…)

but i’d do it over and over again if i had to. the first time we met in person, i canceled my flight home and stayed another three weeks.

lest this turn too absurdly sappy — i’ll leave it at this. the best decision i ever made was to DM that hot guy on tumblr, back in 2008 🥀 by @deadwit
