The second instalment in a series of digital singles from me.

ā€œSignal Path to Ecstasyā€ dives deeper into the experimental side of my sound.

A hypnotic meeting of trance euphoria and tech-house, the track began life as an experiment on one of my semi-modular synthesisers. As the patch evolved, so did the track, gradually transforming into a high-BPM, uplifting dance-floor epic (cringe I call my own track epic but couldn’t think of a better word).

Balancing analogue experimentation with the energy and momentum of the club, ā€œSignal Path to Ecstasyā€ captures the moment a simple synth experiment takes on a life of its own.

You don’t always need a semi-modular that costs a small fortune, the majority of this track was made on my Behringer Crave.

For someone who spends hours tweaking a semi-modular synth to make a sound that’ll probably never make the final record, feeding the algorithm isn’t exactly top of my list. Anyway, here’s a photo of me taken by @mayagemma šŸ“ø by @deafflorists

I wrote and produced this track a few years ago while living at a friend’s place in Hackney.
—
He spent a lot of time in Belgrade, his motherland of Serbia, and would always come back with stories of mad parties - DJs shelling proper tech-house and acid in smoke-filled, inner-city clubs, with the whole place disappearing into a haze of cigarettes and strobes.
—
Off the back of that vision, I made ā€˜Eastern Block Kids’.
—
I wanted it to feel dark, gritty and unapologetic - the kind of track you can imagine being played ridiculously loud in a hazy, strobe-lit basement, with the sub rattling your chest.

I’m very pleased to announce a new digital singles series:Ā The Botanical Selects.

I’ve been sitting on quite a bit of music I’ve made over the last three years, so it feels good to finally start putting it out into the world.

The series will be a mixture of club-focused tracks, experimental semi-modular jams, and whatever else falls somewhere under the broad and increasingly vague umbrella ofĀ Electronic music.

First up isĀ ā€˜Eastern Block Kids’ - a track that’s already received some great support fromĀ Daniel Avery, SuchiĀ and others.

Out Friday 11th September.

Available to buy and stream across all platforms.

More to come. by @deafflorists

Been a little quiet on here lately.

Life’s been moving fast, and instead of stressing about what content to post, I’ve been putting my energy into the music (and the things that actually matter like my GF and my dog).

From September, I’ll be dropping a new digital release every month through to the new year, with the first one landing at the beginning of the month. I’ve also got a quarterly mix series on the way.
Lots to share very soon.

Until then, here’s a photo of me and my boy Theo doing our bit to reboot the algorithm. by @deafflorists

Squelch EP is out today on trUst recordings

Big thanks to @saoirse_music for supporting and championing these tracks over the last year. It’s been amazing to see music I made in my bedroom in Homerton, and later in my little studio in Camberwell, have such an impact on dance floors around the world.

(A2) Melt

I was lucky enough to come up clubbing in the glory days of nights like FWD at Plastic People and DMZ at Brixton Mass, where the bass didn’t just hit, it shook your chest.

I’ve always wanted to fuse that raw dubstep energy with my love for tech-house.

ā€œMeltā€ is the result. Created for those peak time moments.
