The ashtray that isn’t an ashtray.

This vintage carved tiger onyx ashtray requires no smoking. It can be used for basically everything. Red-tip matches for candles, gold hoop earrings, incense ash, coins, little treasures - everything I tell you.

Murano.

Great form, design, colour, everything. This piece is a great example of what I look for when sourcing.

A vintage handkerchief art glass bowl, featuring a warm golden tone and an organic, sculptural form. The bowl is resting on an applied foot realized in ‘sbucato’ clear glass. Sourced in the UK.

Production Period: 1940s - 1970s

Dimensions:
Height: 4.5 inches
Diameter: 4 inches

Material: Glass

Condition:
Excellent vintage condition with gentle wear consistent with age and use. Please refer to images for a closer look.

First website sale went out yesterday — thank you 🙏🏾 — this is still available from my latest collection

The before & after of my first rental flat 🥹

I furnished this whole space with pieces I found on Facebook Marketplace, trying to make everything work with what I had — rather than buying everything new.

I fell in love with the beautiful high ceilings of the tenement building. They made the room feel so spacious, light and inviting.

Looking back, this was probably where my love for secondhand furniture really started. I still miss this little spot. 🤎

Still on that 90s nostalgia here is a vintage drinking glass in deep cobalt blue and clear glass. It features an elegant elongated form and sculptural pedestal-style stem. The simplicity of the clear glass body is beautifully contrasted by the rich cobalt blue base and rounded stem, giving the piece a distinctive silhouette and a lovely sense of height. Sourced in the UK, curated in Essex 💫

Production Period: 1980s - 1990s

Dimensions:
Height: 10 inches
Diameter: 3.8 inches
Base: 3.5 inches

Love this vintage Art Deco frameless bevelled mirror. The simplicity of the frameless design lets the glass itself become the feature, while the bevelled shape catches the light beautifully. There are a few signs of spotting, consistent with age and wear - which is expected. Sourced in the UK, curated in Essex.

Production period: 1930s

Dimensions:
Height: 11.5 inches
Width: 22 inches
Depth: 1 inch

Welcome to the first series of my new “Sunday Saves: Marketplace Finds”

This will be a recurring weekly series where I share marketplace items that have character, history and that nostalgic feel - after going slightly cross-eyed.

I’ll mainly be looking around the Essex (occasionally London and Kent because why not) but drop me a comment and I’ll search for goodies in your area.

Ohhh, if you visit my substack (link in bio) you can find links to every listing so you can make these vintage, none Deaiko, pieces yours.
