POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Dear Dillard University,

Four years in the making—I didn’t know what to expect when I started my journey on the Oaks. You took me in and shaped me into who I am today. The trials and tribulations I’ve faced strengthened me for whatever the world throws next.

To the English Department:

Thank you for welcoming me after I switched my major my first semester. That decision gave me valuable relationships. To my professors and advisor, your love and support helped me grow from reserved to outspoken.

To Student Engagement:

From day one, you never let me turn my back on serving my peers. You pushed me to be the best student leader I could be—and I promise to carry that forward.

To My Family & Friends:

So many of you stood by me through ups and downs. You encouraged me to be myself and held me accountable, preparing me for what’s next. I love and appreciate every one of you.

To Mrs. Melissa & Mr. Scott:

You took me in and treated me like your own. Since losing my mom, you’ve been mother and father figures in my life. It wouldn’t be write to create this post and not mention you. I love and thank you both for everything.

To My Mom & Grandmother:

I made it—bachelor’s in four years, now on to my Master’s. Watching you earn your degree momma while raising me inspired me. Grandma, I kept my promise. I know I’ve made you both proud.

To My Sister:

We’ve been through so much these last 5 years. You stepped up for me, guided me through high school and beyond. We may bump heads, but you push me to be better and never let me give up. I’ve always looked up to you. I love you deeply for always being there.

Dillard University, you’ve raised me well. Now, it’s time to depart as I walk down the Oaks one last time.

On May 10th, 2025, I completed my journey and received my Bachelor of Arts in English from Dillard University.

First I would like to thank God because without him, this would not be possible. I’m grateful to say “Momma, I made it”. This journey has been a wonderful experience and although it has come to a close, the next journey will be one to remember.

To the Class of 2025, we did it! We started our journey with each other just four years ago and now we’re getting ready to soar. I’m so proud of each and every one of you and I can’t wait to see what you all accomplish next.

It’s been real, but our Gentilly Jewel will always be our home… by @deandrewthomas_

To the Legacy Administration…🌳🌳

Thank you for accomplishing the vision that we set to achieve at the beginning of the school year. Serving as your Vice President has been an amazing journey that taught me valuable lessons about myself and my abilities.

To the Senators:

I’m so proud of the work that you all have accomplished and I am so proud of the growth you’ve all had individually. A huge shoutout to @luucineee for becoming the next SGA President, you’ve stepped for me so much this year I know that your term will be nothing short from excellence.

To the Executive Board:

It has been an amazing ride being able to work alongside of you all and watch the growth you have had all year long. To our Chief of Staff @thebleuprnt , thank you for putting up with our late messages and phone calls, working to resolve any obstacles that came in our way. We appreciate you for everything you do. To our Secretary, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian, your work ethic is unmatched and I am proud to call you my colleagues and friends. To our Chief Justice, thank you for taking up the mantle to rebuild our Judicial System, starting from scratch, which I know wasn’t easy but you handled it with grace.

To the SGA President @fiiiirree :

Thank you for supporting my goals and endeavors during our term, I appreciate everything you’ve done for all of us. There’s no one else I would’ve wanted to travel this journey with!

To The Brothers of the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. 🤘🏾:

Thank you for welcoming me into this wondrous band and building me into the Sigma man that I am today. Thank you for entrusting me as Chapter President right after I joined our organization going into my Junior Year. @michael_onterrio , I’m proud of everything you’ve accomplished when you took over the mantle as Chapter President. Without the guidance of our advisors and brothers, I wouldn’t have been confident in the path that God had laid out for me this year.

To The ALLΣPARK✨:

@itsiim and @frankie_jjunior , thank y’all for always supporting my vision and goals that I’ve sought to achieve. All brothers argue but just know that I will always have your back no matter where life takes us. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished and cant wait to cross the stage the way we joined this organization, together.

Although my time as a member of EA is coming to an end, this begins the long journey that Sigma has in store me.

Velocity Signing Out…🤘🏾🤘🏾
