I've been coaching Mondays and Fridays 6am class for over a year now @graciebarraderby. These are showing to be a really popular staple class amongst the timetable.

@romulobarral recently said if you train at 6am you get good twice!

Extremely proud and honoured to be promoted to black belt last night. I couldn’t thank enough all of the coaches and students at both @allegiance_derby and @allegiancejiujitsuacademy for all of the guidance, help and support over the past ten years. Onto part two of the journey. by @deankirk1989

After a challenging start to the year it meant an awful lot be able to compete @bjjbritishopen

Having competed here at White x 2, Purple and now Brown. It still seems very surreal to be competing at Brown Belt.

Very grateful to be surrounded by great people supporting and pushing me through the good times and bad times.

GB1: Fundamentals Program.

Some tabs were given out tonight during our fundamentals program.

These students are showing consistency to their training, a great attitude towards learning and most of all applying their Jiu Jitsu through drilling and positional sparring.

Straight back into the mix after an incredible few days at the Download festival.

What a whirl of a week! Promoted to Brown Belt last Friday, and quickly and my first competition at the new level where I got bronze.

Won my first match via points and second I lost due to making some mistakes. Felt great competing at Brown Belt.

The greatest part of today was coming out strong as a team with @graciebarraderby and @graciebarrailkeston much easier to compete with an army by your side.

Ready for Monday 6am class 😎🤙

Amazing weekend @bjjbritishopen with some great performances from the kids/teens and juvenile team yesterday!

Today saw the adults compete with a really great showcase of Jiu Jitsu, in particular the fundamentals executed to high standard. They also took some 🥇 home!

Was great opportunity to see some of the students hard work pay off in the highest level of competition.
