There’s no one like sisters 😭🙏

Throughout my infertility journey with 8 miscarriages, my sister @briethepilotswife has always offered that if the time came, she would happily be our surrogate for us. And while I was so grateful for her offer, I never thought that’s the direction that we needed to go.

After each loss, there was always one main thing we thought could be the reason for the loss of that pregnancy, so we were always hopeful the next time could work. But after this last loss, when all the numbers were looking so good throughout, the thought of my sister, @briethepilotswife, carrying our baby felt like a much better idea.

She has 2 perfect daughters and had no complications with those pregnancies and there are no words to describe how grateful we are for her to do this 🥹

I’ll share more updates soon but we’ll plan on transferring later this summer/fall 🫶

I didn’t realize how much this space needed this! 🤯

I love how the checkered pattern of the pavers turned out and the Dominator Polymeric Sand finished it off perfectly! Since we did so much work to make sure it had a good base, I feel so much better that they’re locked into place well with the stability it gave the pavers 🙌 and this polymeric sand didn’t have the dusty & hazy residue left behind that others do!

You can grab some from Lowe’s online or at select Lowe’s locations!

Do we like the checkered pattern?!

So excited to get this area of our backyard covered with pavers so it’s no longer just a dirt patch collecting junk from our DIY projects! It’ll also give us more room to add furniture around the pool and hot tub so I’m so excited to get these all laid down! 🙌

I may have gotten rid of our grill 6 months ago, so I think it was time for a new set up!

Once I realized you only needed the small top section of the grill, rather than the entire metal chunk underneath, I immediately started thinking about how cool tile would be for this area!

I fell in love with the Teton Veil Tundra tile that @daltile just came out with from @homedepot and thought it would be perfect as a countertop! It gives me the dramatic look of marble that I love, but it’s much more durable and easy to clean! And the LuxeCraft Emerald tiles that we had left over from our outdoor shower build contrast and warm it up so well!

How do you like how it turned out?!

Should I continue with the marble-look or go with the emerald tiles?!

I’m so happy I went with the Teton Veil Tundra from @daltile because the stormy veining is just giving me lifeeee! These large format tiles from @homedepot were so much easier to work with because the larger pieces allow for fewer cuts and less grout lines. It’s also going to be so much easier to keep clean!!

Now, I’m so torn on either continuing the Teton Veil Tundra or using the LuxeCraft Emerald Tiles! I love the artisan-inspired finish and the rich color of the green and think it will contrast the marble-look so well! So, which way would you go??

First or second? Which would you choose?? 🤔

I’m so excited to use these @daltile large format tiles from @homedepot because they give the stunning look of natural stone, but have the durability of porcelain tile! I love how
timeless the marble-look is and I’m so excited to see how it all comes together! 😍

My baby + my sister’s body = a new chance 🤞

While infertility has been so difficult to go through, it’s such a blessing to be able to experience things like this we would never be able to see otherwise - Seeing our baby at this microscopic level (!!!), having a doctor (@katherine.mcdaniel.md) who couldn’t be more kind and supportive through it all and having a sister (@briethepilotswife) willing to give up her time, body and life for the next year for a chance to meet our baby one day.

Thank you @hrcfertilitypasadena for the best care and hopefully we have great news soon! 🥹🫶 @hrcfertility #sponsored #hrcfertility #surrogate #surrogacy #ivf by @deannadunn
