Dahlia ‘Orient Express’ - usually has orange petals with flecks of coral through it however, it’s also not unusual to have a whole flower head in a deep coral or dark salmon colour like this one. It’s one of my favourites in the garden. by @deanoh87

My one and only melon harvest this year. As soon as I walked into the greenhouse this morning, a strong waft of melon hit me, which is one indicator of a melon being ripe for harvest.

What the plant lacks in quantity definitely makes up for in quality. Luckily I now have a load of seed that I can wash, dry and store for next year.

Flavour is amazing and 10x more delicious than any melon bought in a supermarket. by @deanoh87

The green bean arch is coming along well. Already harvested a few green beans and a lot more to come.

If you do grow green beans and can’t keep up with the pickings, they can be blanched in boiling water for a few minutes and then once cooled, can be put in the freezer. by @deanoh87

The hydrangea (hydrangea macrophylla) flowers have finally turned blue. Taken them a while but got there eventually.

Depending on the pH of the soil that it’s planted into, the blooms are either a pink or purple/blue colour.

To achieve the purple/ blue colour, the plant needs ericaceous/ acidic soil. The more alkaline the soil, the more pink the flowers are. by @deanoh87
