Hidrante se complace en anunciar La Piel Muda del Tiempo, una exhibición colectiva con obras de Amarise Deán Santo, Beatriz Santiago Muñoz y Gadiel Rivera Herrera. La exhibición estará abierta al público del 3 de mayo al 5 de julio.
¿Es el tiempo una entidad viviente? ¿Posee piel? ¿Se muda o se regenera, evolucionando constantemente a medida que envejece y se transforma? La piel, una capa que separa y confina, es simultáneamente flexible, porosa y sensible: un moldeador primordial, el definidor original de la existencia. La Piel Muda del Tiempo contempla el Tiempo como una forma tangible, un espectro de cambio en la vida y el potencial de su percepción.

Hidrante is pleased to announce La Piel Muda del Tiempo, a group exhibition with works by Amarise Deán Santo, Beatriz Santiago Muñoz, and Gadiel Rivera Herrera. The exhibition will be open to the public con May 3rd to July 5th.
Is Time a living entity? Does it possess a skin? Does it shed or regenerate, constantly evolving as it ages and transforms? Skin, a layer that both separates and confines, is simultaneously flexible, porous, and sensitive—a primal shaper, the original definer of existence. La Piel muda del Tiempo contemplates Time as a tangible form, a spectrum of change in life, and the potential of its perception.

⚡CULTURE WEAPON ⚔ is an online exhibition curated by my sister @s.at.i. 📿🌸 who has been such a force in my life-often wifey and family in many seasons- her voice has always spoke volumes to me and her intention is hard to come across. This is just the start of our brilliance coming together!

I saw @puppiespuppiesjade 💚 speak in Philly a few years ago and her honesty, absence of shame, and willingness to share such moments of power, grief and awakening- left me in awe of how I too could arrive to the world "in the flesh".. in her words.

My sweet boy @_artie_mis_ 🦎taught me how to preserve bones through facetime my first Winter on the island- His poetry and process opened me up to entering a world of life I felt so afraid of for so long. His gentle connection to land felt so full of wonder, reverence and purpose in a way that is like a shared love language and it ignited me while taking these photographs of nature happening.

Mi hermani @gedgatx showed me the processes of making dye from Jagua fruit and the rituals behind honoring the Jagua trees it grows from. Most of the work is anointed with some or entirely in the dye-it became a layer that shells and bones could be coated with like a balm and a shield. Similar to how it feels to be in Gë's presence.

These artists, kin, loves and siblings allow me to feel the interconnections of our truths coming alive! here! in the present! yes amidst a burning world! We are here now aren't we? With a promise promise promise to keep the earth's voice resounding.

Some fotos on the ‘Tasting Menu’ 💋 Thank you for these beautiful publications @artconsultingtool @marina.diasteixeira @yasminabdalla & Mosaic Mag @literaryfreedomproject @janetmock @meccajamilah to have been able to have photos beside so many amazing poets was a gift.

Studying and speaking with incredible makers, sharing magic and longing for change. When these publications arrived to Puerto Rico I smiled big. Been transforming my closet into a space to lock in with my process. Finding more ways to share with you.

Queremos anunciar esta nueva serie de videos que vamos a estar haciendo pa’ la corilla.

Nuestro deseo con esta iniciativa es dar la mano y apoyar a nuestra comunidad trans, cuir y No binarie a sentirse mas comodes y segures en su propia cuerpa. Deseamos poder compartir y apoyar para que podamos vivir nuestra identidad de genero de maneras seguras y saludables en estos tiempos que estamos viviendo. Ahh y on a budget bb 💅✨

Reconocemos la necesidad de adquirir estas herramientas que nos ayudan y nos benefician en el dia a dia.

Queremos dar una mención especial a SYD ( @eternal.obj ) por transmitir este conocimiento, a DEAN ( @deansante_ ) por compartirlo con nosotris y estar puesti pa’ esta proyecta!

Ps: puedes usar cualquier hilo, nosotres escogimos este que es mas grueso por visibilidad al video. 😉💖

Mirada conocida (2024) on color film

Vadear junto a ti mientras el rio nos abraza, es verte como si te he conocido antes. Es entrar en un agujero donde el tiempo se detiene.

El traje siendo un escudo, no tanto como armadura sino como una extension de tu cuerpo, como una capa de tu piel. El sonido de la corriente me ata y se enreda sobre mi cuerpo así como las cintas que nos anclan y entrelazan nuestros secretos, memorias, hechizos y visiones.

Los pétalos de flamboyan fluyen alrededor y nos guían a través del rio. En el camino, solo queda agradecer la reflexion de la naturaleza que nos rodea y con ternura nos devuelve a la quietud de la luz. Esperando, en fin, tu conocida mirada.

I returned to the sun just a few days before my Capricorn guardian- my queer elder-my armor- a person who's story protects me from the shame- 31 ;) a vuelta connecting my deep truths. The main take away: committing to the remembrance of what I inherited-TRANS3XUAL ON ANCESTRIAL LAND. Repeating that through the pain.. letting it be my thread- letting it echo inside- penetrated and stained in my skin.

places I've been met by warmth- in the midst of the forest and the middle of the sea- te amo un monton and the way you all have made me see this small fierce island is the world.

I admire everyone here for such specific reasons and in that admiration they've become my friends, siblings, brothers, sisters, and likely life time lovers-in many moments I've fallen for them and their tender ways of being. They keep this land so alive and it's rubbed off on my heart.

One thing I love is a thick, heavy book full with the scent of paper.🍃
This show & publication is beautiful to be a part of. gracia por todo @fujichrome @hidranteee @tereztheroof @umn_nash 🌿

I saw these two snakes pressed into each other while on a walk with a lover. We were fascinated by the ways they mirrored each other, the way sunlight hit their scales- how they entangled their bodies, and latched so tight you would think it was one snake from far away. They vibrated together in tremors like intense breathes...you could hear it all through squished up moist slippery sounds.

for a moment I thought about my veins, the fluidity of the body my spine molds to. and then I felt our sweaty brown skin pressed close - the moisture made between our evolving chests- as to mirror an ancient and becoming desire that breathes now in the light. indulging.

There's a prayer that comes to mind now that my bisabuela spoke without speaking---entangled rosaries stuck in the cement was a way to hold tight to love-to hold the land and never forget our origin- water colliding into each other.📿⛓📿 taken in Vaivén by @deansante_
