Not every mother begins with the same support—but every mother deserves to feel seen, informed, supported, and connected. 🤍

That belief is at the heart of Nurture House Foundation.

We exist to help bridge the gaps between women and the education, resources, support, and advocacy that can make a meaningful difference throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood.

Because sometimes the help exists—the connection doesn’t.

We’re here to help strengthen that connection and build a village where more women know they don’t have to navigate everything alone.

Stronger Mothers. Brighter Tomorrows.

Every mother deserves to feel seen, supported, informed, and cared for. 🤍

That belief is at the heart of Nurture House Foundation.

Founded by Dr. Ashlee McCorkle-Jamieson, OBGYN and Latasha Dawkins, RN, BSN, NHF was born from our shared passion for maternal health and our experiences caring for women and families.

We’ve seen the difference the right education, resources, advocacy, and support can make. We’ve also seen the gaps that leave too many women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood without the support they deserve.

Nurture House Foundation exists to help bridge those gaps.

Through education, community resources, advocacy, partnerships, and tangible support, our mission is to help women and families feel better informed, better connected, and better supported.

This is only the beginning, and we’re so excited to finally share it with you.

Welcome to Nurture House Foundation. 🤍

Educate. Connect. Support. Advocate.
Stronger Mothers. Brighter Tomorrows.

Do you know the signs?! 👀🤰🏾

Preeclampsia can become serious quickly, and sometimes the warning signs are easy to dismiss as “just part of pregnancy.” Knowing what to look for matters—during pregnancy and after delivery.

Severe or persistent headache, vision changes, pain in the upper-right abdomen, sudden swelling, rapid weight gain, shortness of breath, nausea or vomiting later in pregnancy, and elevated blood pressure can all be warning signs.

And remember: some people with preeclampsia may have few or no noticeable symptoms. That’s why prenatal and postpartum blood pressure checks are so important.

Know the signs. Trust your body. Speak up. Get checked. 💗
Save this post and share it with an expecting or newly postpartum mama.

Every pregnancy and postpartum journey looks different and so does the support each mother needs. 🤍

Sometimes it’s education. Sometimes it’s help at home. Sometimes it’s simply having someone ask, “How are YOU doing?”

We want to hear from you. If you could go back to your pregnancy or postpartum experience, what support do you wish you had more of?

Share with us in the comments. Your experiences matter, and they can help us better understand how to support the mothers and families in our community. 🌿

Breastfeeding may be natural, but that doesn’t mean it always comes naturally. 🤎

The right education, encouragement, and hands-on support can make such a difference in a family’s feeding journey. From positioning and latch to pumping, milk storage, and simply having someone there to answer questions—support matters.

At Nurture House Foundation, we believe families deserve access to trusted resources and professionals who can help them feel informed, confident, and supported—without judgment.

🤱🏽 Help us build our village! Tag a lactation consultant, breastfeeding specialist, nurse, or other lactation professional you know in the comments. We’d love to connect with those doing this important work in our community. 🩷

Motherhood was never meant to be navigated alone. 🤍

A village doesn’t always look the same. Sometimes it’s family. Sometimes it’s friends, neighbors, healthcare professionals, community organizations, or simply someone who chooses to show up when it matters most.

At Nurture House Foundation, we believe strong communities are built through connection, support, and making sure families know they don’t have to figure everything out alone.

Who is part of your village? Tag a person or organization doing meaningful work for families in your community. 🌿

We are honored to welcome Dr. Djuna Jones, DO, RN, BSN, as a Founding Board Member of Nurture House Foundation. 🤍

Dr. Jones brings more than two decades of clinical experience, leadership, education, and advocacy to our village.

Her journey in healthcare began as a Registered Nurse after earning her BSN from Rutgers University. Driven to expand her impact in patient care, she continued her education and earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005, beginning a physician career dedicated to women’s health. Her journey from nurse to physician gives her a unique understanding of patient care from both sides of the bedside.

Today, Dr. Jones serves as an OB/GYN Hospitalist and Facility Medical Director with TeamHealth at Piedmont Henry Hospital, a role she has held since 2020. Her commitment to healthcare also extends into education. In 2026, she joined Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), Georgia Campus, as Adjunct Faculty, helping educate and develop future physicians.

Beyond medicine, Dr. Jones is a mother, educator, advocate, and woman of faith. As the mother of a child with special needs, her experiences have deepened her commitment to compassion, inclusion, advocacy, and ensuring every voice is heard.

From nurse to physician, clinical leader to educator, and mother to advocate, Dr. Jones brings a perspective that beautifully aligns with our belief that women and families deserve to feel seen, heard, supported, and valued.

We are honored to have her at the table and proud to welcome her to the Nurture House Foundation village. 🤎🌿

Today, we’re introducing someone very special to the Nurture House Foundation family. 🤎

Meet Holly Durant, RN, one of our Founding Board Members.

Holly brings 10 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience and a decade of standing beside women and families during some of life’s most vulnerable and meaningful moments. Her experience in maternal health gives her a perspective that aligns so naturally with the heart of our mission.

But beyond her experience, Holly brings compassion, commitment, and a genuine desire to see mothers and families supported well beyond the delivery room.

We’re grateful to have her helping us build Nurture House Foundation from the ground up and shape what this organization will become.

Welcome to our village, Holly. 🤎🌿
