I’d like to find the right person to buy the Dear Butte house. It has been a sanctuary for myself and many others. I’d like to sell it in an off market sale to someone who would appreciate it. So, I’m throwing it into the ether.

It’s best suited for a single person. It’s 850sq ft. The basement is a walkout and could be renovated to suit. It’s approx another 800sq ft of space. Built in 1891 by a Cornish miner. This is a classic miners four square cottage. It’s cozy and move in ready. I will be adding a few outlets before the sale. The house is solid and well built. There are three glassed in porches on the south, west, and north side of the house. It’s is surprisingly warm in the winter. The neighborhood is quiet. I would be your only neighbor directly to the west.

I’m asking $210k. I have had multiple others interested but they have fell through. If I don’t find a buyer it will go on market after Labor Day.

Devin Champlin is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist based in Bellingham, WA. His recordings, solo and as the songwriter/frontman for Sons Of Rainier have found their way into the permanent library of hobos, widows, fry cooks, and fancy pants alike. Intimate lyrics filled with optimistic existentialism are unhurriedly floated with a wavering baritone voice over sometimes unexpected fingerpicked guitar lines. As an artist with a DIY aesthetic, he uses songwriting as a medium to create imagery- along those lines he also produces animations, videos, paintings, drawings, and prints in tandem with his musical output. In addition to writing and performing, Devin often teaches workshops on fingerpicking guitar, songwriting, and fiddle. When not nerding out on songcraft and art, Devin can be found at his day job, running a brick and mortar guitar shop in Bellingham, pulling guitars apart and putting them back together. taken in Pissers Palace by @dearbutte

For this year‘s FESTIVAL OF IRISH WRITING, we have been lucky enough to receive a grant from the Montana Department of commerce! With this money, we will be making a short documentary film done by Chase Mcdaniel. We will highlight Butte Irish Heritage in our keynote speaker, Billy O’Callaghan.

We have a super special HOT SUMMER NIGHTS for you this Saturday Aug 29th.

Indian alternative electronic artist Adhitavo will present an audiovisual performance developed during his Dear Butte artist residency. His music draws from the energy and nightlife of Brooklyn’s club scene, blending club-inspired electronic sounds with introspective songwriting around themes of asymmetry, identity, and disconnection.

On stage, he builds songs piece by piece, repeating sounds and musical ideas as loops, then layering vocals, samples, and new elements over them in real time.

During his time in Butte, Adhitavo is focusing on lyric writing, completing the album’s interlude pieces, and compiling the final structure of his upcoming album, Incongruence. The project began as his master’s thesis at Berklee College of Music in New York and was developed at the historic Power Station Studios in Manhattan, whose rooms have hosted artists including David Bowie, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, and Cyndi Lauper.
