Cheers to the first Black National Travel Day! 11/11/24 @blacktravelsummit has founded a national holiday to honor our impact in travel, and remind the world of the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This date was marked in honor of @barringtonirving, the first and only Black person to fly solo around the world in 2007.To me black travel is about freedom and overcoming the barriers and stereotypes that were placed in front of us. It is about inclusivity, educating others, and being educated by others. We are a community with rich history. And yes, we swim, we get our hair wet, we hike, we explore, we do things out of the ordinary!I’m so grateful for the opportunity to travel and to feel at home in many places in the world. Let’s continue to explore and spread kindness to the world as we connect with other cultures. by @dearshellyhan

Off the gird. 🌵🌊Aruba is unreal!🐚I was driving along the coast and stopped for a view at Mangel Halto Beach from the cliffs. I’ve never seen a scene like this one, with cacti and rock cliffs overlooking so many colors of blue water. It looks so rustic.🐚This is a less frequented area but so alluring. Get your things together, an exciting chapter of paradise awaits you in Aruba 🌞🌴🏊🏽‍♀️Tips for your trip to Aruba: 🚗Rent a car - the island of Aruba small enough to drive around within hours. There are so many sights, beaches, and activities to do that are easier with your own personal transport. 🏕️Stay at a boutique hotel - they are comfy, peaceful, and have unique style and are most times within a local neighborhood, which allows more interaction from locals. 👩🏾‍🦱Talk to the Locals! I found the people there really charismatic and friendly. I met some locals and they gave me good suggestions and showed me a good time :D🤟🏾Learn Papiamento: official language in Aruba along with Dutch (many other languages are also spoken). My favorite word: “Dushi”= Sweet ❤️☀️Get Out and Enjoy! Aruba is a small island with so much adventure to offer.
