Kanagawa’s KEN-O No. 1 rock vocalist - the one and only DEATHRO. Long before the name Deathro ever appeared on a flyer, he was already deep in the trenches of Japan’s underground punk scene, grinding it out in bands like Cosmic Neurose and Angel O.D. When he finally stepped out on his own in 2016, he didn’t just join the game - he rewired it, forging his own high energy style of punk infused with Japanese beat rock. While many punk bands lean into darkness and dread, Deathro does the opposite. He delivers sincere, uplifting rock songs that hit hard and leave you feeling alive. Regularly sharing stages with punk and hardcore acts, he has, over the years, become one of the underground’s most treasured, respected, and straight up beloved figures. His lyrics may be in Japanese, but the positive fire behind them needs no translation. That energy has already reached fans across the globe. Constantly on the road and giving everything at every show - whether the room is packed or half empty - you will always get the full, maximum version of the man. And most importantly, Deathro understands the most crucial element of punk: it has to be political. His fifth album, ガラパゴス - GALAPAGOS, released in 2025, covers topics such as the Palestinian struggle and discrimination. He also performed at the Punk Against Apartheid in Tokyo earlier this year, consistently showing his solidarity to the cause. BLANK SLATE FEST VOL.2 - 14th Nov 2026 PRESALE $650 (link in bio) by @deathro_com

⛓️Deathro - 20.09.26 - Footscray Bowls Club⛓️ After a sunny afternoon of musical escalation from punk to hardcore to grind there was no better to end it all with Kanagawa KEN-O No.1 Rock Vocalist @deathro_com An enthusiastic storm of J-Rock and Punk with @unsanitarynapkinpunx providing backing duties that swept the crowd and at times Deathro themself off their feet. One of the best performances from anyone I’ve seen this year. I hope Deathro returns to Melbourne soon and kicking myself I didn’t make the other shows. 素晴らしい演奏をありがとうございます @deathro_com (Hopefully I didn’t butcher that😅) And massive thank you to Pathetic Day ( @flaming_mongrel )and everyone involved in organising, playing or just showing up to have fun. If it’s back next year I will try and get to more then one day of it. And stay tuned for not 1 but 2 videos from the set cause it was too fun to just post one. ⛓️‍💥Support local art, your local scene & the venue’s that give new artist’s a go⛓️‍💥 #MelbourneHardcore #HxC #NaarmHardcore #JRock #Punk taken in Footscray Park Bowling Club by @deathro_com
