We’re currently working on the paintwork of our life-size Velociraptors from the iconic kitchen scene in Jurassic Park 1. 🦖

For this project, we have to work in a slightly different order. The eyes need to be painted first and then installed into the Velociraptor heads. Once they are positioned correctly, the surrounding area has to be sculpted and finished around the eyes.

After that, an additional epoxy layer will be applied to the eyes to create an as realistic and lifelike finish as possible.

Only once the eyes are completely installed and finished can we carefully mask them off and start painting the Velociraptors themselves.

The eyes were beautifully 3D sculpted by Maarten Verhoeven, bringing an incredible level of detail to this project.

More to come as these life-size Velociraptors start coming to life! 🦖🎨

🦖 PEOPLE THINK WE’RE CRAZY… AND THEY MIGHT BE RIGHT! 😂

People are already telling us we’re completely crazy for taking on a project like this. And honestly… they might have a point. 😅

But that’s exactly why we’re doing it!

We’re extremely excited to announce our next major project for Heroes Dutch Comic Con this November! 🔥

We’re bringing one of the most iconic moments from Jurassic Park to life — the terrifying kitchen scene where the Velociraptors enter through the kitchen doors. 😱

And this won’t be a miniature or scale model. Everything will be built life-size, 1:1 scale.

For this year’s Comic Con, we’ll start with the two life-size Velociraptor heads, recreated at full 1:1 scale and based on the iconic creatures from the original Jurassic Park kitchen scene. These will be the first part of the project to be displayed at the convention in November.

But this is only the beginning…

For next year’s Comic Con, the plan is to build the entire life-size kitchen scene — including both full-size Velociraptors, the complete kitchen environment and all the details that make this scene so iconic.

It will be a massive 1:1 scale diorama and display. A huge amount of work, but we believe the end result will be something truly special. 🦖🍽️🔥

This project is a collaboration between some amazing talents:

👁️ Maarten Verhoeven — designing the eyes in 3D
🦖 Double Dome Studios — creating the life-size Velociraptors
🎨 Diorama Builder / myself — final finishing, painting, coloring, detailing and all the modifications needed to bring these creatures to life.

We’re working on this incredible project from the iconic film Bram Stoker’s Dracula. 🧛‍♂️

We’re creating this piece specifically for Comic-Con in November, so it has to be finished by then. Still a LOT of work to do, but we’re getting there! 🔥

This entire project is being created in collaboration with Diorama Builder and Double Dome Studios.

And this is one of the best 3D designers I know — Maarten Verhoeven. Definitely take a look at his page as well! 👀

Maarten Verhoeven will also be joining us at the Diorama Builder stand, where he’ll be there to show some of his amazing work and share more about what he does.

Come and see us on 21 & 22 November at Heroes Dutch Comic Con! We’ll probably also be doing a Q&A with Maarten during the weekend. 🙌

One step closer… 🔥

After finishing the Maya base, I moved on to the two Raptors and Lara Croft. 🦖

A few days of assembling, sanding, smoothing, filling every seam and getting all the details right. It’s a lot of work behind the scenes, but this is where the pieces really start to come together.

The base is now almost finished and ready for the next stage.

And now… the big one begins.

Finally, the Tomb Raider base is DONE! 🏛️🔥
I wanted the base to have the feeling of an ancient, forgotten Maya temple — heavily weathered and overgrown, with traces of those beautiful old blue and red colors still surviving through the years.
But… we’re definitely not at the finish line yet! 😅
The Raptors still need to be painted, Lara Croft still needs to be finished, and of course… the T-Rex is still waiting. 🦖
So for now, the end is still nowhere in sight — but the project is slowly coming together, one piece at a time. 💪
I’m really happy with how the base turned out. Now it’s time for the next chapter! 🔥

Gotta say, this one is an absolute beast.
I’m currently working on the Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis statue, and it’s massive. The entire piece has been resin printed, and anyone familiar with large-scale resin printing knows exactly what comes next.
Print lines, layer transitions, seams, and assembly joints never disappear on their own. Every line has to be sanded, every seam filled, and every texture carefully restored by hand. It’s a slow and labor-intensive process, but that’s simply the reality of turning a large resin print into a high-end display piece.
One of the most unique features of this statue is that it includes two Lara Croft portraits: one based on her appearance in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and another inspired by Angelina Jolie from the movies.
There is still a tremendous amount of work ahead before this statue is ready for paint, but it’s finally starting to come together. Step by step, all those individual printed parts are becoming one seamless piece.
More updates coming soon as this giant project continues to take shape.

From today, our life-size Alien Queen is officially available for sale.

This incredible life-size Alien Queen is made from ABS and translucent resin. This project took countless hours to complete, with extensive assembly, sanding, and every color carefully built up layer by layer to achieve the most screen-accurate finish possible.

Created in collaboration with Double Dome Studios, this Alien Queen was specially built as a display piece for Comic Con, and we spent over six months bringing it to life.

To ensure a safe and impressive presentation, a custom-built heavy-duty steel frame was specially designed and fabricated to properly support and display the Alien Queen.

Dimensions: • Width: 110 cm (43.3 in) • Height: 268 cm (105.5 in) • Length: 200 cm (78.7 in)

Because the head is displayed at an angle, the full head actually measures an impressive 260 cm (102.4 in) in length.

Today, we're officially releasing our life-size Alien Dog / Runner for sale!

This incredible piece is crafted from ABS and translucent resin, and it represents more than six months of dedicated work. Every detail has been carefully hand-painted to capture the iconic look of the creature. As you can see in the photos, countless hours went into bringing every texture and subtle color variation to life.

The dome is cast in translucent resin and has been lightly airbrushed to preserve its transparency, allowing the intricate internal details to remain clearly visible—just like the original creature from the film.

the dimensions are 180 centimeter long, 120 centimeter wide and 95 centimeter high.

Hi everyone, I'm Eugene Le Clercq from The Diorama Builder, and today I'd like to show you our life-size T. rex from the original Jurassic Park movie.

To make this project as screen-accurate as possible, we gathered as much reference material as we could from the internet, consulted dedicated Jurassic Park fans, and even spoke with professional prop makers.

This T. rex was created in collaboration with Double Dom Studios, who 3D printed the entire sculpture in durable ABS. We designed the eyes ourselves, and they're packed with fine details. They were handcrafted using resin and epoxy to achieve the most realistic look possible.

The T. rex can be completely disassembled into three sections: the upper jaw, the lower jaw, and the neck. We also designed a heavy-duty steel support frame, which can also be taken apart for easy transportation and installation.

For the finish, we used a professional 2K coating system. The skin has a matte finish, while the mouth, teeth, and nose have a high-gloss 2K clear coat to give them a realistic wet appearance.
The dimensions are approximately 2.2 meters tall, 2 meters long, and 1.1 meters wide.
Worldwide shipping is available, and the T. rex will be securely shipped on pallets.

The Alien M-314 Motion Tracker is powered by a Raspberry Pi and custom-programmed to recreate the iconic motion tracker experience from the movie.

When you fully press the trigger, the aliens slowly move closer. Hold the trigger halfway, and they stop in place. Release the trigger, and they slowly move away again. Press it once more, and they'll start approaching you again.

The built-in gyroscope also tracks your movements, so the display rotates as you turn the tracker, making the experience even more immersive.
