Araujo Family Values

Last night at the Santa Maria High School FFA Chapter Awards Banquet the Araujo Family gave out two scholarships to two outstanding students to help them with the cost of continuing their education. It was so cool to see so many seniors being accepted to so many prestigious college and universities throughout the country.

My sister @the_missflowersandcurls is one of ten AG teachers at SMHS who help these students in so many ways be it teaching them in the classroom, coaching them in their judging teams, advising them with their fair animals, and helping them find their way in life.

I am beyond proud of my family and the scholarships we are able to provide to help a few kids out when they graduate high school and that my sister gets to do what she loves everyday!!

and last but not least the Santa Maria High FFA Chapter has been named the BEST AG Program/FFA Chapter in the state of California for 2 years in a row and that puts them in the conversation of BEST AG Program/FFA Chapter in the USA.

Keep up the good work Santa Maria FFA
and GO SAINTS!! by @deawhy

Today, I start my 15th book of the year.

after reading 60 books last year i didnt have a reading goal set for '26 and told myself to just read at whatever pace felt comfortable. last year if I started a book i forced myself to finish it but this year i have already stopped 2 books i have started and if i dont get back to them then no worries cause i have already read over 5000 pages not including all the articles read about the on going doom.

my 6 months of being unemployed is over and i am back working at jj's market. the last six months have been filled with some many ups that i told myself that going back to work had to be something less stressful because i want to continue to enjoy life outside of whatever work i was going to be doing.

4 months in and i am going to my 7th comedy show this sunday. i have also come to love spinning records and recently had my 1st paying gig after spinning sets at open decks at 2 wonderful places in Slo. what a feeling it is to play the songs you want to hear and love and others being like what is this? and you have that on vinyl.
it feels good to be excepted into a new community and find all kinds of new sounds from the others spinning songs they love. i have prioritized that laughter and vinyl records are only making life better and spending time with friends and family is more important than getting a max paycheck.

4 months in and i have lost 4 people and also got word that my father has to start radiation. grief comes in waves and im doing my best to surf. i am beyond lucky to still have my father my mother and my sister cause i know so many that dont. i am beyond lucky to have a great group of friends to lean on when times get tough and hope tomorrow will be brighter for all of us.

lastly if you are still reading i thank you and want to inform you that my book of poems is coming together nicely and will be coming out later this year so youll have more to read from me. i am so thankful for all the fine folk who are helping with this project and cant wait for you to be able to have my book 'drawings' in your hands!!

i hope youre doing well and are getting what you want out of life. by @deawhy
