Autumn & Cotes-du-Rhône🥰
These wines are rich and flavorful due to the grapes used in these lovely blends!
It doesn’t matter who leads the dance..Grenache, Syrah…in the Rhone River Valley these grapes fight for dominance in the blend!
This one is old school lovely..typical GSM blend but rich, like they do in France😏
Love this time of year..time to bring out rich red wines that do not start with the letter C😂

Summer night snack of farm grown corn, with a Mexican theme. Mexican corn salad starts with farm grown corn mixed with jalapeño, cilantro, garlic, green onion, with cilantro, red peppers and Feta! Also lots of Mexican spices but wow! Add some summer spicy shrimp and a cocktail…
Wait, did I say cocktail?
Yes I did! Great for summertime, this is a wine based, most amazing cocktail!
First I always use a Crémant from Limoux, rich and flavorful but not overbearing. Next up my fav, and Jackie O’s too, white Bordeaux wine Lillet blanc! Yum! Made like a white Bordeaux, then mixed with exotic fruit and spice from around the world, then straight alcohol is added to enhance all the flavors! It’s an OMG for summertime!
You could stop right there and be fine. However, I love to add a shot (or two) of Gin…what gin you may ask? Old Tom pre prohibition style gin…cold!
This is a summer treat made in heaven, not for the faint of heart!
I love to garnish with thyme & cucumber but the night is hot and ice will do!
What would summer be without your favorite wine & food? It’s time to be creative and find something besides plain old white wine! Try it! I dare ya😊

Perfect dinner for a summers eve! A rose’ from cote du Rhone which I’ve posted often as I love it! Easily accessible and full of delicate flavor and balance! Tonight it’s being pared with a Mediterranean salad and seared salmon with Thyme, lemon and Italian sea salt. Wowow!
Loving this classic pairing as summer begins to wane.
Summer breeze does make me feel fine! Especially with a lovely rose’ and Mediterranean salad, yum!

Alexander Valley, amazing merlot which outside of a certain really dumb movie is a really good wine! Paired with Ratatouille with no mice but spicy shrimp which was delicious!
Do not, I repeat, do not be afraid of ordering merlot! It’s one of the grapes of Bordeaux and absolutely amazing with pasta, burgers and just about anything you’d eat with Cabernet!

Back to work after a brief time off! French wine was the highlight and while hot outside the cool wine was stellar!
The fav of the night had to be the Chêne Bleu Viognier! Grown at a high altitude the flavor/crispness was stellar!
Of course the Burgundy twins showed up, Chardonnay & Pinot Noir then a lovely Margaux arrived for a nightcap!
So good to be back playing with wine! 🥰

Celebrating the first day of March…better behave itself!

Such a perfect day to create this light meal of linguini with Red Argentina Shrimp, scallions & garlic simmered in butter and brought to life with this fun Rose’!
This is Rosés time to shine! Bye heavy reds! It’s almost spring!
The Gerard Bertrand is one of my favs! First is the elegant rose themed bottle from stopper to base🌹The grapes, classic! Grenache, Syrah & Cinsault are classic Mediterranean, grown so well in the Languedoc region of southern France!
Gone are the cold days and heavy reds, bring on Rosé, bubbles and lots of sunshine!

I haven’t posted in a minute, it’s a busy work thing. So very blessed to be living my dream but even more so to get to walk this journey with young people who want to learn! We may start as student/teacher but always end as friends! @madelineconsoer is close to taking the test as we hit all the smaller countries making a big impact on wine industries!

This was Austria (Gruner Veltliner) & Greece ( Assyrtiko) and Agiorgitiko St George.
These wonderful wines get harder to find in some markets but worth it when you find them!

Gruner Veltliner is amazingly high in acid and a real show off with sushi! A palette cleanser to allow each bite to stand alone!

Assyrtiko is another high acid bomb, but brings more flavor!!
It loves seafood as it’s grown right up to the sea, but versatile enough to handle rich meaty foods as well!

Agiorgitiko (ah-yore-yee-tiko) is a lovey red wine that is a standout among Greek reds. Lovely nose of bright fruit and herbs, acid that’s ready to break down whatever Greek food you want to throw at it!
We had dolmades, the grape leaf wrapped deliciousness that’s easy to pop in your mouth and wait for the flavor explosion! Following it with St George creates a whole new layer of flavor that’s always a surprise!

So fun to be back here, taking you on this magical mystery tour of wine from different regions!

There’s a whole world 🌎 of wine to explore! Let’s do it!

My job is busy managing the wine program, I still teach for the exam and love my job!
Wine with Santa is a Malbec blend from the Mendoza from a trip last year! Wishing for another year of exploring wine. Got that Santa?
