In 1997 I began studying at the University of Ripon and @yorkstjohn for a degree in Communication Studies and Dance.

Nearly 30 years later I have meandered my way within the dance sector as artist, educator, researcher, choreographer, writer, programme and company manager to find myself back in York to begin a new chapter.

Absolutely thrilled to join @thelondoncityballet as their General Manager with their opening week @yorktheatreroyal for the Autumn Season.

A real portfolio career in dance involves risk, rejection, disappointment and requires faith, trust, versatility, a strong support network, and belief. I am so blessed that I have been able to navigate my place in the dance field for so long and I will continue to do so because I simply must! #belief #ballet #firebird by @deb_kate_ward

Finding faith, trust, peace, love and happiness is really all that matters. My dream studio, my own creative practice, sharing and crafting magical things with my favourite people. Spent the weekend sharing my studio and the world of @balletfolk_uk @parndonmillharlow Open Studios. What a blessing! by @deb_kate_ward

Ballet Folk is 7 years old today! It’s been an amazing journey and I’m so proud of everything I’ve achieved, founding and directing this company completely independently. I am blessed and grateful to every single individual who has supported me, collaborated with me, and simply made things happen against all odds! Too many to name, but you all know who you are and how much each folk ballet and film we’ve created together means to me. I am so excited to share with you some amazing news in the coming weeks about the next seven years. I’ve been working so hard to future proof this company and I know it’s going to be just as magical as this first chapter. Much Love to you all Debbie xx by @deb_kate_ward
