The Miss Boro Pageant, is named after the heroic and indelible Late Major Jasper Isaac Adaka (Lion) Boro, who combine both accolades of honour and appreciation.

The pageant is an annual contest held in May during the Isaac Boro Memorial Festival in Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA, Bayelsa State, South-South, Nigeria.

The pageantry aspect of his memorial was introduced in the year 2000 because of inclusivity, and to see women emulating Isaac Boro’s personality. That’s to say that, women should be leaders, have ethical standards, become agents for change and be positive role models, just like Boro.

The Miss Boro Pageant with its slogan “Inspired to Impact”, and the crown which symbolizes “Resilience”, is a platform that instill ethical standards, build capacities of young women to become positive role models to contribute to community development and nation-building, and also enhance unity and peace in the Niger Delta through Arts.

The crowned Queens becomes role models, Niger Delta ambassadors and distinguished Queens in Nigeria.

The 27th Miss Boro Beauty Pageant 2026 will be held on May 20th, during the 58th Anniversary Boro Festival in Kaiama, Bayelsa State, Nigeria.

The Boro Festival is always a delight to not only see but participate, lots of fun traditional displays and cultural exchange in the home town of Late. Major Jasper Isaac Adaka Boro.

In the quiet heart of the Niger Delta lies Kaiama, a town where history breathes through the mangroves and the river whispers stories of courage. Long before modern maps gave it shape, Kaiama stood as a cradle of Ijaw heritage—rooted in tradition, resilience, and an unbreakable bond with the land and water.

Today, Kaiama shines as a symbol of cultural strength and quiet determination. Its history is not just written in events, but in the hearts of its people—steady as the river, bold as the tides, and forever inspiring those who listen closely to its story.

Kaiama is a reminder that even the smallest places can shape powerful stories—stories of courage, identity, and hope that ripple far beyond their shores.
