How do I say I'm optimistic about Nigeria at the same time I'm not, that I believe Nigeria would be great one day but then that's a far fetched dream, that my heart genuinely prays for Nigeria but at the same time, I resist the urge to roll my eyes when asked to pray for Nigeria. Perhaps one can love a place and hope for its future, but be exhausted by its present.

I believe Nigeria would be great again, and I would see it and enjoy the greatness of Nigeria, but when and how Nigeria will get there, I just can't explain.

Imagine a bucket of dirty water under a running tap. Initially, there's no change to the water, but as long as the tap keeps running and the bucket remains under it, pretty soon, there will be a change to the water, until it is clean and clear. This is the testimony of my ife.

I grew up in a Christian home, went to church all my life, and attended every program my parents heard of 😫 but somehow, I don't know if I can say I knew the Lord. I saw God as that Father who I needed to not offend, to remain on his good side. I saw God as someone whose love I had to earn.

But since joining @cci_global, with every sermon, prater meeting, worship service, something began to change in me. Something I didn't notice immediately. And like that bucket, I have stayed, and God keeps pouring into me. Even when I was living a life that wasn't pleasing to God, God saw me and still chose me, cleansed me, and saved me.

Today, I am reminded of this love of God seen in his saving Grace, and I am overwhelmed. I am filed with so much hope, joy, and awe.

We are always quick to condemn our leaders for their corrupt practices and this we should do, but how about we also take a look at the everyday habits that have gotten us to this point. How about we realise that the collapse in our government started in our conscience and value system.
To get started in our solution is to start with the man we look at in the mirror. To look inward and change our warped mindset and character. And this message doesn't exclude anyone. Because it might not be the big corrupt practices 'YET' but those little ones that we need to curb now. by @debbie_yanju

So this year I & my sis started a thing. The Girls Hangout. What is it about?

The Girls Hangout is a monthly safe space for girls to have honest conversations, be accountable, and becoming better versions of ourselves.

Our first hangout was the Finance Edition, this 2nd edition, we talked about Confidence. How Women can be Audacious & show up boldly in our everyday lives. We challenged ourselves to do things we’ve been putting off. It was such a needed conversation (it felt like therapy).

One of the things I love about TGH is the way we hold each other Accountable. Every meeting we write goals for the next month & when we meet again, we ask ourselves how far we’ve gone in achieving them.

This 2nd edition was particularly relaxing, it felt like we were gisting, and the food, these ladies brought alot to eat & drink.

We hold our meetings every 2nd Saturday of the month. If you’ve been desiring a space like this, please come through. by @debbie_yanju
