Last year, we reached out to girls at the Correctional Centre in Idi-Araba, Lagos. This year, God is leading us into schools through our Skill Up a School project.

Our goal is to equip secondary school students with tech and media skills that will prepare them for the future.

We are calling on volunteers, partners, and sponsors to join us in impacting young lives.

My team and I decided to take to the streets to celebrate the male child as of our capstone project. 🤭

And one thing became certain , the streets have stories to tell too.

The male child deserves to be loved, heard, supported, and cherished.
He deserves safe spaces.
He deserves kindness.
He deserves to be seen.

Just had to scribble this in my journal after a sleepless night…
Where exactly did everything go wrong?

Where did we lose our morals?
Who is raising vicious children and psychopaths?
Why is the world so unsafe, especially for women?

This isn’t just frustration, it’s a cry. 🥲
A cry for accountability.
A cry for empathy.
A cry for the world we deserve.

To every survivor; it was not your fault.
Your worth did not reduce.
Your future did not end.

I hope you breathe freely again.
I hope you feel seen.
I hope you find safety.

This is my journal.

Part1:

Sometimes we grow up and wonder why certain things still trigger us. 🥹

Why we feel uncomfortable in certain rooms. 😫
Why compliments don’t sit right.
Why we try so hard not to seem “too much” or “too awkward.” 😕

And we forget… it didn’t start now.

Those moments when it felt like we were nothing among our peers.
Those seasons when it seemed like we had nothing to offer.

Those small childhood habits?
Sometimes they were coping mechanisms.
Sometimes they were unhealed wounds we quietly carried into adulthood.🤕

People called it shyness.

But deep down, we knew it was more than that.

This post isn’t for everyone. 🫠

It’s for the ones who learned how to survive quietly
and are now trying to unlearn it.

And here’s the thing…
what happens when people finally start noticing you
is not what you think.
