Everyone I love is Dead by Amber Leigh Larrain.⭐⭐⭐⭐ On March 13th, Brittany lost someone she loved, and over 5 years, on the exact same day, she lost someone else she loved. She attended 5 funerals. Was she just unlucky or was somebody out to punish her? Is she next on the list? I really enjoyed this psychological thriller. The writing was great, yea! For short chapters. The storyline was unique and engaging too. It had a lot of twists and turns and just when you think you may know what happened…do you really? Now, I did figure out the general twist, but I tend to do that for most books I read. I did not figure out the whole plot, but I did figure out most of it. It’s the downside of reading mostly thrillers all your life. I received this novel as an ARC but it releases on Friday, March 13th. If you’re a thriller lover, I highly recommend it!

My 2025 #audiobook stats. Yes, audiobooks are books.This doesn't include the Libby books I listened to through the library. As usual, I read mainly horror, thrillers and suspense.

My November reads. A little Thanksgiving. A little Christmas. Snow, I bought a Haunted Thanksgiving Table, and You Better Watch Out were all 4⭐ reads for me. The Christmas Guest was 3 1/2 ⭐ and Christmas Presents was 3 ⭐.

💀💀💀💀/5 The Devils in the Next Room by John Durgin (audiobook version) is part creepy occult thriller, part horror and part family drama. It is a unique combination that works well in telling this story. Before I even review the book, I will say that the prologue was one of the creepiest, unnerving chapters in a book that I have read in a long time. If you want to completely creep yourself out, read the prologue all alone in a dark room. The story takes place in rural New Hampshire and centers around two brothers, Brian and Bo, who had a very rough family situation growing up and suffer two tragic losses. After their mother dies, they discover she was holding on to some deep dark family secrets but so was one of the brothers, Brian. While Brian and Bo deal with family secrets, a group of skeleton mask wearing murderers are roaming rural areas, killing everybody they encounter. How these evil murders intersect with Brian and Bo's family is an unimaginable twist you will not see coming. I enjoyed this book a great deal. It does get a little slow at times, but the unique plot, all of the twists, and lets not forget that creepy prologue, more than make up for it! This is a great Halloween season read!

⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng by Kylie Lee Baker. Set during the Covid19 pandemic, Cora experiences an unimaginable tragedy and loss. After losing her job because of the pandemic, she begins a new job as part of a crime scene cleanup crew where she, along with her co-workers, discover a possible serial killer at work. I was torn on how to rate this book. The beginning was compelling and shocking, and the last half was fast-paced, gory and tense. However, about 1/3 of the book I felt just was too much unneeded detail, and I struggled to continue with it. I'm glad I stuck with it because it was worth it in the end.
