NYC food dumpppp

Y’all asked… and I delivered.
Debbie Takes is officially BACK for good.

First stop: Sunnyside Pizzeria
Neapolitan-style pizza in Sandy Springs and easily one of my go-to spots.

Wait can get long (even with a reservation) and the space is a bit small, but the food and service make it worth it every time.

What I ordered:
• Pepperoni pizza
• Hot honey lemon pepper wings
• Pistachio martini
No misses.

Chicken & waffles is definitely a brunch staple for me!!!

This past week I visited Just Brunch and had their chicken & waffles which came with waffles, fried chicken, and maple butter. I loved the waffles they were very fluffy and sweet but the chicken wasn’t seasoned to my liking. I did enjoy my meal but I felt like the chicken took away from the meal.

I recently visited the White Bull in Downtown Decatur during their happy hour. I got their Carbonara pasta off of their Aperitivo menu which came with guanciale, pecorino, and egg. It was very savory, creamy, and the guanciale had a nice crisp to it; I loved it! I would definitely come here again.

Mild chicken & sausage Shawarma from @athenskokosbites !

This shawarma consisted of layers of seasoned meat & spices, wrapped in a toasted flatbread, and a shawarma sauce! I truly enjoyed it and it was very authentic! The mild was very hot so if you can’t handle spice I would recommend getting the regular.

I rate it a 9/10! It was a little bit too spicy for me, but the flavors were really good and I will definitely be getting it again ! by @debbietakes

Chicken pot pie is not something I ever expected to order from a restaurant, but when I saw it on the menu I had to try! I went to the Brick store pub in downtown Decatur and got their chicken pot pie which came with gravy, farm-raised chicken, carrots, onions, & celery. it is only available for dine in only. I was pleasantly surprised; the crust was flakey & buttery and the flavor of the gravy was extremely flavorful. I do wish that there was more gravy because I had leftover chicken and vegetables. I would rate this meal a 9/10 it was a very filling meal and I liked the fact that it was so unique. by @debbietakes

ZZs & Simone’s was definitely one of my top dining experiences here in Athens. I had a spicy sausage pizza which had a base made up of red onion, honey, mozzarella, chili flakes, pizza sauce with spicy sausage on the top. On the side I had their crispy potatoes coated with parmigiano, rosemary, and lemon: a must try. Overall I would rate my food an 8/10. The potatoes were very crispy & seasoned and my pizza was extremely flavorful. by @debbietakes

Happy New Year, my fellow foodies! 🥂 I recently visited a South African-owned restaurant called The Cape Restaurant & Beach Bar. I tried one of their specialty cocktails, the Mistletoe Margarita. It was a tequila-based drink that had the perfect balance of sweetness and strength. For my appetizer, I chose the crab dip with pita chips. It was very savory and probably one of the best items on the menu. Lastly, my entree was lamb chops topped with carrots and roasted potatoes, accompanied by a side of fries. I would rate my meal a 3/10. My meal was surprisingly underwhelming. Given the restaurant's higher prices, I expected more flavorful dishes. However, despite this, I enjoyed the nice ambiance, decor, and service. taken in The Cape Restaurant & Bar by @debbietakes

I visited the Cheesecake Factory in Lenox square. I had there miso salmon and a raspberry lemon drop. The miso salmon is a fresh miso marinated salmon served with snow peas, brown rice, and a miso sauce. The salmon had the perfect balance between sweet and savory. I enjoyed my raspberry lemon drop, but it was a little bit too sweet. I rate my meal a 7/10. taken in The Cheesecake Factory by @debbietakes

Mother Pho is a family-owned Vietnamese restaurant in Athens. I had the Mother Pho Satê which was pho with a spicy beef broth & I added on shrimp. The meal was very savory and it was the perfect meal for the cold weather! I rate my food a 9.5/10. taken in Mother Pho by @debbietakes

Mangos Caribbean Restaurant is a spot in Atlanta, Georgia. I got their oxtails with a side of rice and peas and plantain. The oxtails were pretty good, tender and flavorful, but the rice was hard and the plantain wasn't as sweet as I would've liked. I give this meal a 6/10. taken in Mangos Caribbean Restaurant by @debbietakes
