Artwork for the artist. 🌹

Filming a friends’ wedding can be beautiful, but filming a friends’ wedding who you work side by side with countless times in the industry……is art. From the moment Chaki decided he wanted me to capture his wedding, I knew I needed to bring a certain form of art. While his vision, his style, and his creativity as a photographer slightly mirrors my own as a cinematographer, it’s still unique in its own way. Knowing that, I had to look through the lens differently.

You can tell these two were truly made for each other and it is always an honor to film your friends in love. Cheers to the close bond we have and continue to build Chaki, & cheers to my new good friend Shayna lol - With Love (Avec L’Amour)

Check out the amazing team👇🏾

There’s a strange kind of perspective that comes from finally experiencing something you’ve spent years documenting for everyone else.

I’ve photographed countless wedding days, watching them unfold from behind a camera, anticipating the moments before they happen and preserving them for someone else to look back on.

This time, it was ours.

Being on the other side of the lens was surreal, letting someone else tell the story while I simply got to be in it.

And now, as I edited my own wedding photos, I understand what I give my couples in a whole new way.

These are just a few of my favorites, although “a few” took an embarrassingly long time to narrow down. Turns out choosing favorites from your own wedding is a lot harder than choosing them from someone else’s.

And a huge thank you to @nikoll_ph , @photographybybenandkadin and @wedbylukki three incredibly talented photographers who took on the slightly intimidating task of photographing a photographer’s wedding. Thank you for allowing me to put the camera down, be completely present, and trust that our day was being captured exactly as it felt.

Forever grateful to have had you three behind the cameras for this one. 🤍
