And Then there was Light
.
.
.
I managed
to raise myself
to my knees before
getting up off the ground
to stand, and when I did, the
woman on the ground behind me
looked up to see me standing, so I offered
her my hand so that she might also get to her feet.
.
.
.
So when the
women on either
side of me pointed ahead
questioning if this was the way
I said yes, perhaps this is the way we
should go, and then we all nodded in agreement.
.
.
.
But before I
stepped forward,
I said that I think first
we all need to stand, and we
each looked back and bent down to raise
another woman, and then another, and then another.
.
.
.
Some women
went on ahead to
scout for danger, and
some women mended wounds,
and some told the stories of how we
had all become grounded and kept in the low,
.
.
.
and some
women screamed
fire with all of their fury and
rage; scorching and lighting all of
us a new path to walk, and some clung
to their infertile ground too afraid to leave
the only dirt they have ever known, and so
some women stayed behind to help them let go.

.
.
And some
women placed
their seeds into our
pockets knowing that one day
when our rain, and our moon, and
our sun were finally returned to us, that
even our fallen would have everything they need
to grow; to grow out from of all of this darkness.

feel it
live, to bare
witness to all its
forms and energies.

To
be of
service as
a honourable
vessel, to amplify
the quantity & brevity
of it’s kept-waiting breath.
.
.
.
To
find in
the act of
invitation, an
anticipation ; a
weight of absence
dashed only by longing; a
flux of holding in and of crying
out the desire for breath’s return.
.
.
.
A
lone
vigil of
embrace;
a welcome
held in place
with a silent plea;
an inward summons
to quiver the necessities
of undiscovered strengths;
to muster from innate depths a
sacred altar of unrealized bravery
from which to proffer all these burnt
offerings; to hold out one’s hands with all
of their enough, each time beseeched and
beguiled by the bedlam and treachery… of hope.

I think it’s time to starting asking cheating married men why they didn’t just leave rather than abusing and or taking out their entire families ?

If mens married lives are really so bad, why wouldn’t they just leave ?

And how do these pick-me mistresses not understand that they are next in line for the same abuse ?

Anyone who knew about what was happening but chose to do nothing was complicit in its execution.

Apparently men need two more lists of step by step instructions made for them:

The First - How to call 911 using the phone in your hand to report a crime in progress.

The Second - How to find your spine with a moral compass.

Those men, including the ones that read the message, had 7 hours to do the right thing and put a stop to it but instead chose to do nothing.

Shame needs to change sides….

The Guilt/Shame Paradox

Guilt -
I am sorry for what I have done.

Shame -
I am sorry for who I am.

The word shameless is confusing as it is
always used as an insult, a judgement, or both.

Additionally, I do not understand how
“ Having no shame ” is considered to
be an insult and a judgement while being
“ Shameful ” is also considered the same
negative critique and criticism.

Why would anyone be required to feel shame
both in its absence and its presence ?

Why is anyone needing to be sorry for
who they are in tandem with who they are not
and then further expected to feel guilty for
existing in either ?
