Experiencing a huge case of the blahs today. The Xfinity/Comcast outage that started at 8:15 yesterday morning has still not been resolved. Who knew how lost a person can be with no cable, internet, or wifi. My land line is out, too ... but I never use it and only have it because Rick was resistant to change. That said, based on what caused the outage (see photo), I can see why it's taking awhile ... especially on a holiday weekend plagued with heat and storms. Supposedly, the new restoration time is tonight at 8 PM ... but I'm not holding my breath. And while I was super motivated and productive yesterday, today has been spent mostly moping and doing absolutely nothing except scrolling Facebook and watching episodes of Ted Lasso on my phone (thank goodness for my unlimited data plan). The dogs are SO bored and driving me crazy today, but it's still too hot to run around the back yard with them. Honestly ready for this day to end, but it's dragging ever so slowly. I need to just force myself to get something productive done so I don't go to bed tonight feeling like a useless slug. by @debjohnson1031

Some years we'd head out to the Riverfront, ride the Wilmington and Western Railroad to Hockessin or ride a crab feast boat for our 4th of July activies. Before the Riverfront became a thing, we used to take my little sisters from Big Brothers/Big Sisters to the celebration in Rockford Park. Other years (more recently), we'd just grill and hang at home and watch 'A Capitol Fourth' on PBS while cuddling the pups. This year definitely looks different. I will medicate Kirby Jack and Boomer (although he doesn't hear them as much anymore) and, if Comcast ever restores my cable, Internet, phone, and wifi, will watch Hamilton while praying our neighbors don't blow themselves up or set one of our houses on fire. I said my final "see you later" to Rick this afternoon. Completely overwhelmed by the beautiful turnout at his service. So much love for Rick and for me ... and I am so unbelievably grateful. I will carry the energy of the many hugs and beautiful words I received today with me as I venture on this scary new journey. They will be my strength moving forward. Special thanks to Domingo Reyes for officiating and to Rick's siblings for sharing their touching (and humorous) memories. by @debjohnson1031
