Family Ripplefest Texas Album: 2025 Edition! Another adrenaline-fueled, head-banging year filled with copious amounts of riffs, love and appreciation for all us that contribute so much to this fest! We are so blessed to have such a special gathering where connection is key and we continuously grow together making new friends. This is our group therapy! We lucked out with some beautiful weather while in Bergen. Gorgeous sunsets, really cool bars including Apollon Platebar that includes a record store (dangerous!), a stave church, panoramic views, the best fish and even made some furry friends. We leave Norway with the most magical memories and can’t wait to come back. I must be dreaming it all…

Some highlights of @sonicblast_fest 2023, still flying high from the festival! I FANGIRL’D TFO, knowing this could be my one and only chance to meet some of the musicians that bring so much joy to my life, especially those who never make it to the US! Met some amazing people, both musicians and fans alike, from Sweden, Norway, Poland, Greece, Portugal and the US. DREAM FESTIVAL: the weather, location, laid back vibe, people, and line up. We will definitely be back! Brimming with love for our stoner metal community! 🫶💚🤘

Rad story alert. @scottwhittenoakland and I met @mariana.fiel at Sonic Blast 2023 through Cas from Sasquatch as she was helping them at their merch table. We hit it off as fellow ladies in the scene as she reminded me she played at Ripplefest Texas in 2022 with her band High Priestess since she recognized my shirt. We kept in touch, fast forward three years later we see each other at last night’s Acid Bath/High on Fire/Melvins/Windhand show and reconnected. She and her boyfriend Erik invite us over the next morning for brunch, to meet their most adorable dog Minx and a tour of their absolutely gorgeous property in Boulder Creek! Just love how our scene keeps us in close touch even when we don’t get to see each other on the reg. Hoping that will change soon now that we’ve leveled up our friendship. Feeling very energized and love our scene for these serendipitous moments! by @debolee

Wowza, what an insane night. WINDHAND came out strong and sounded the best I’ve heard them to date before they blew the power out! What a way to set the bar and keep those technicians on their toes! A quick recovery thankfully. MELVINS always slay and bring intense energy and HIGH ON FIRE pretty much gutted everyone. They were a big standout of the night. My first time seeing ACID BATH and their sound was phenomenal. Visuals were top notch as well. I couldn’t help myself and bought the sick poster by @richiegoodtimes, just look at that glowing beauty! So many people came to the Quarry Amplitheater in Santa Cruz for this show, it was a party under the stars and a night going into the memory bank for sure.

A good and gritty night with sludge and doom brethren IN SHAME and DEMONSMOKE at Hesher’s. Been too long since we’ve seen them and were blessed to be bathed in their noise once again. And the mighty AMAROK came back to Oakland, which I was very stoked about! Dark, atmospheric, emotional riffs that transform your soul. Got to see a bunch of friends I hadn’t seen in a while so it was a night full of fellowship and excellent music.

Holy smokes, IGORRR put on a commanding performance at the Great American. I’ve been curious about this band with their dark, creative and demented theatrics with strong Dune soundtrack vibes. That woman can sing! A bit like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum meets Ministry. Really enjoyed them!
SECRET CHIEFS 3’s Trey Spruance joined them on one song after SC3 played their experimental, middle-eastern jazz set, which I am warming up to the more I see them. Talented musicians indeed.
I had no prior knowledge of opening act VIOLENT MAGIC ORCHESTRA and nor did I have Japanese EDM metal on my bingo card, but they put on an engaging and hypnotic set that was quite entertaining. I thought the singer was gonna crawl out of a well into my nightmares last night.
An intense show with a blazing light show that made it a challenge to film and photograph, but left a powerful impression on us. A memorable avant-garde kind of night!

This year’s @ripplefesttexas was the therapy we all needed! So much good music and amazing friends that make this festival the best in the US imo. All the bands threw down and everyone was in the best spirits. Huge amounts of gratitude to @lomsproductions for another fantastic fest, one we look forward to every year. Rocktober is starting off strong as last night’s show at the Ivy Room provided a good time for all. We were lucky to have FRIENDSHIP COMMANDERS come through town again as they make their way back to Nashville. They gave us a mighty set and it’s always a pleasure catching up with Buick and Jerry!
And it’s been too long since we’ve seen THE FREAK ACCIDENT and damn, can they put out some noise! Definitely a local favorite that keeps us coming back for more.
My first time seeing THE CLARKE NOVA and they had some good raw energy to close out the night. Whew, this has been a whirlwind of a week of shows!

Felt like I was running on a quarter tank of gas yesterday, but nothing like a CHAT PILE show to get those synapses firing and make you feel full of life again! They are one of my top 5 favorite bands to see live, so cathartic and gut-wretching to the point of painful pleasure. Hard to describe, you either feel it or don’t.
And I didn’t know who SOUL GLO was, but anyone who can crowd surf while singing/screaming has got my attention. VIRGA kicked things off nicely to get us all warmed up for the slaughter. Fantastic show!

A really fun night at the Great American starting with a chaotic, sonic 13-minute blast of a set from rx.pinknoise. Moon Destroys performed powerful riffs and the only melodic vocals of the evening and then experimental Japanese noise rockers MELT-BANANA threw us back into a loud frenzy that had the crowd in a delirium. It was great catching up with @amsterzach and @montoyablackmagic (thx for the guitar pick!) on their last show of this tour. So worth going out on a Sunday!
