My poetic paintings are inspired by my observations of the world around me.my work evokes calm in this chaotic world… a kind of meditation. The study of light and expressive brushstrokes allow me to express the feelings I experience…💋💋. #taa15artist #vermontlandscape #poeticpaintings #light #artforsale #expressivepainting #vermontvacation by @deborahasherman

@sebastiancvitanic came to visit my studio recently and took some photos of me with my work and AT work. So happy to meet him and discuss photography, art and film. 🎥 The first image is really symbolic… the sculptures are some of the first ones I ever made and the painting behind me was one of the first created after moving into my studio…a memorial picture for my father who had recently passed. My florals are a celebration of the beauty of life and the passage of time…I often include a butterfly…that amazing being with a short and beautiful life.🦋🦋🦋. Thanks for the photos Sebastian!😘. #lifeofanartist #portraits #studiolife #selfportraits #acrylic #studiovisit by @deborahasherman

“Rebirth”is a gouache on board—small in size( 10”x8”)—filled with energy but still radiating a sense of calm. Scroll through the images to see how I develop the work and study close up views of my brushwork. This work invites you to slowdown and contemplate in contrast to the hectic throb of social media. Visit my website and follow me here to find moments of meditation in this chaotic world. Sending 💚 by @deborahasherman

Thinking of a painting that is sold and was exhibited! “Black Rose” is a thoughtful work… the present owner meditates while looking at it! A peaceful and calm work. I have more work from my black rose series in the studio…🥀🥀🥀 by @deborahasherman

A visit to a quiet place for contemplation…my studio. Much of the art produced to day is loud, bright and graphic. I bring a different voice to the conversation ! Please enjoy a leisurely look at my dreamy oval floral. I would love to hear from you and have you visit my studio… by @deborahasherman

Today is my birthday and thought it would be appropriate to share one of my older works. Painting flowers is such a peaceful activity. It allows me to meditate and respond to my subject while working. I have been working in my studio for years to perfect my vision. So much of the work one sees in is loud... my vision is quiet and brings another voice to the conversation. Sending XO! by @deborahasherman

A quiet green glade…intentionally quiet.Slow because a lot of work today seems so quick, fast, loud…doing the opposite makes their work stand out more. That is how we are in conversation. #quietart #greenlandscspe #brushstrokes by @deborahasherman

A circle is a shape that brings a certain sense of tranquillity. Would be a dream to have a show of all tondos! So in love with the circles! Recently been working on squares and rectangles but looking back at this one from last year. The details that follow show my technique…I make brushstrokes that capture my experience in an expressive way. So satisfying to work on all the color relationships. It is intuitive but the result of years of study and looking… All this effort results in in a meditative experience for the viewer— colorful poetry.💚💙💜#floral paintings #visualpoetry #studiolife❤️ by @deborahasherman
