Yesterday, I attended @royal.g Born to Wine class, and I'm still feeling it today 😮‍💨

The goal was to focus on technique, core strength, and hip mobility, and we did exactly that.

By the end of the old class, we were all shaking like a salt shaker 😂

365 days without running, without numbing, without hiding. Sobriety hasn’t been easy, but it’s been the most honest thing I’ve ever done for myself. I survived the nights I thought I wouldn’t. I made it to a year.

Today I celebrate myself and my family members who didn't have the strength to do what I did. If you are trying to stop and need a listening ear I'm always here to help you find healthier coping mechanisms.

I love you 💕 #staystrong #youreastar #deborahlatrice #sobriety by @deborahlatrice_

I finally made it to @homewoodskateshop today! Their hours never seem to align with my schedule, but I managed to squeeze in a visit.

I picked up some new outdoor wheels, bearings, and jam plugs, and they even adjusted my trucks for me.

Once I get better at skating, I’ll definitely come back for a new pair of skates 😁

Check the last slide... I clearly couldn’t wait to try them out 🤣

I’ve been making this journey about me, and God has been showing me it was never just about me.

My story, what I’ve overcome, and where I’m going are all meant to reflect the work He has done in me and through me.

Today in class, I realized that I’m grieving.

Grieving people who are still alive.
Grieving the things I had to set aside while caring for my elderly dog.
Grieving the things I thought I wanted, only to realize I just liked the idea of them.

Throughout this journey, I’ve learned detachment and acceptance. The truth is, the only thing you can control is you.

Some things are only meant to teach you, not stay with you.

Thank you for a wonderful class @barrebyselina

Done with just a blow dryer and brush ✨

I took a 2½ year break from being behind the chair full time, and in that time I learned a lot about myself.

I learned patience, discipline, and that passion doesn’t disappear, it just waits for you to return.

Now I’m back behind the chair with a deeper appreciation for the craft and the people who trust me with their hair. ✨ taken in Chicago, Illinois by @deborahlatrice_

Yesterday, I was fortunate to receive VIP tickets to the @expochicago art fair, and I want to share all of the beautiful artwork I experienced.

Simple but effective ✨

I haven't recorded a workout since I started at my new gym.

Coming from a private gym, it was a lot easier to record, but here are a few of my leg day staples… and of course, I have to get an hour in on the treadmill while crocheting 🧶 by @deborahlatrice_
