With very cold weather in the forecast, I got my act together and I'm trying to make basil salt. The recipes I have seen use a cool oven to dry the salt mixture, but I'm trying my food dryer on cool. by @debraadeis

Our hotel was right on Seneca Lake and I had 10 minutes free to take a walk last night. I was really curious to see what this giant contraption was working on, and this morning, it was operating as I left town. It was fun to see but a little less fun than expected. by @debraadeis

One of my first projects as a retired person is going to be to trim back the bushes that block my view of this maple tree in fall. I wish I could also trim the trees that are directly in front of the maple but that would not be my property. by @debraadeis

Last night we heard Honey Badger at a house concert in Lancaster City. The songs really resonated with me and their voices were so perfect. Kinley (Music on the Map).has a house concert about once a month and I will share the details if anyone is interested.

We didn't go to the potluck that began the concert but I did have one of these frightening cookies. by @debraadeis

We went to the reopened, revamped, Mosby 's last night and it was super nice, and more open. Much less 1970s in decor. We got there early because the concert started at 7:00 in Lancaster but by the time we left it was packed. At the bar, many people seem to know each other.

Our server, Makayla, was delightful!

I decided to experiment with using a knife and fork to eat wings and ended up cutting through the paper in the wings' basket and the sauce leaked off the wings onto the table. Lesson learned and will just use my fingers.

I'm looking forward to going back and trying something more ambitious from the menu. My side of broccolini was really delicious but I think that was because it was very buttery. by @debraadeis
