Happy pub day to As You Wake, Break the Shell, the first book in the new duology by Becky Chambers! 🎉

This made me cry, so it's automatically a 5-star read, but it's also just a wonderful story about many forms of love between people who deeply care for one another.

Also, as a plant geneticist, I approve the science in this sci-fi book ✅

Read my full review in the slides and don't read this book unless you've stocked up with paper napkins!

I thank @harpervoyager_uk for granting me access to an advance reading copy of this book via @netgalley. All opinions shared here are honest and my own.

I've caught a cold and had a hard time focusing on reading or making any posts in the last few days, but as I'm recovering, I thought I could share a light Last, Now, Next post, as I've enjoyed my last and current read do much, and have high hopes for the upcoming one ☺️

Happy book birthday to What Feeds Below, an amazing SFF horror by @thebuffwriter, published by @bindery_books! 🎉

This didn't read as strongly as YA to me, but it had one of the creepiest claustrophobic scenes and most creative cave monsters out there.

For anyone looking for a scary adventure where you might lose friends, limbs, or your own life, but maybe also win in this odd sci-fi gamble, this is a book for you, weirdos.

I thank Bindery Books and @netgalley for access to an advance reading copy of this book. 💚

September was a slower reading month, so I've read two ARCs and one trilogy, but I've had lots of fun with all my reads!

- A River Wide by Amanda J. McGee (horror), I thank @interstellarflightpress for the advance copy, it was great!
- In Their Eyes by @simonfgodin (horror, phychological thriller/mystery), I thank Simon for an advance copy and for the shelf trophy that's on my way, the book was pretty twisty!
- Ninth House trilogy by Leigh Bardugo, where only the first book was supposed to be our book club read, but many of us ended up binging the whole trilogy together.

I might not be reading my one non-fiction a month as my initial goal was, but I'm surely enjoying my picks 😂

What great books have you read last month? And what are your Spooky October reads?

I GOT AUTHOR MAIL! 😍✉️🎉

Thank you so much for the signed sticker and card, they're wonderful, @redscribed!

This is the first time I've received a gift from an author, and on top of that, I admire their work and character so much! I'm so honored that I got to read Grief Eater as an advance reading copy, and I thank @interstellarflightpress and @netgalley for making that possible. I'm also grateful to my friend, @babi_rossociliegia, who gifted me the shelf trophy for my home library when I started looking into ways to get a copy. All of this was crowned today with a signed sticker and thank you card that flew to me all the way from Australia!

Moments like this bring me joy and inspiration, and I can't wait to read more from Emma Osborne and Interstellar Flight Press, because they deserve all the love!

It's been a while since I've binge-read a series, but here we are! This September, I've been reading these three books back to back, and I'm about halfway through Dead Beat right now.

How do you like your series? Spaced out, reading them as the books are being released when we talk ongoing ones, or do you prefer for the series to be finished and to read everything at once? Which series have you devoured last?

- Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman, a Horde book club read
- MAYA: Seed Takes Root by Anand Gandhi and Zain Memon, narrated by Hugo Weaver, thanks for the advance listening copy to @simonandschuster via NetGalley
- Nothing but Blackened Teeth by Cassandra Khaw
- A Magical Girl Retires by Park Seolyeon
- The Seep by Chana Porter
- The Word for World is Forest by Ursula K. Le Guin
- Rose/House by Arkady Martine

If you've read any of this and have similar recs, let me know! And if you're curious to learn more about any of these stories and see if they're the right fit for you, feel free to ask for more details in the comments below.

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo, our September Horde's thriller book club read! Currently 85% in and quite invested. The mystery and magic are quite complex and the dialogues and horrors so realistic 📖

Happy book birthday to @simonfgodin's debut, In Their Eyes! 🥳

Thank you once again for the honor to have been picked for an advance reading copy, and I cannot wait for my signed shelf trophy to arrive in mail 😍

I don't read thrillers as often, but I love psychological books, and Simon has the right background to write a great book to mess with your mind and stay unpredictable until the very end.

This one has a big yes from me for everyone who loves slow-burn psychological horror/thrillers with a lot of twists and a messy open ending that leaves you thinking about the story for a long while after 👀

A small graphic novel haul of the work by Marjane Satrapi, who recently passed away.

Chicken with Plums just got translated to Serbian by @carobna_knjiga and became available at @bulevarbooks, but I also had to grab a copy of her iconic Persepolis.

I'm sorry I haven't known more about her work before, but I hope it's never too late to get acquainted. 📚

A River Wide by @amcgee.writes is out today! 🎉

I've really enjoyed this elemental witchy mystery novella and I thank @interstellarflightpress for granting me access to an advance reading copy of this book via @netgalley!

I hope that the book overview and my review will catch your interest and that you'll also give it a go. I found it interesting that the main characters name is Rhiannon, just like the author of Home Sick, @rarrmageddongrist, and there was a certain similarity between their protagonists that I don't want to reveal and spoil, so I guess you'll have to read both these books to find out 👀
