Congratulations to @little_miss_echo on her new cello concerto for @yoyoma ‘Mundillo’ (Little World), receiving its world premiere with the @laphil conducted by @gustavodudamel on May 28 & 30

Negrón describes the work as “informed by soundscape ecology, climate justice, and community led practices in Puerto Rico. The concerto imagines sustainable futures rooted in care, collaboration, and local action.”

This collaboration is rooted in an experiential creative workshop Negrón facilitated with Ma and NYC’s @billionoyster

Dudamel says, “Mundillo is a traditional Puerto Rican lace. In Angélica’s imagination, its patterns echo both the natural world—like coral reefs—and human structures, including the intricate life of a symphony orchestra. Each thread follows its own path, but together, they create something whole. It feels especially meaningful that Yo-Yo, an artist known for his humanity and openness, helps bring this vision to life”
