POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Doom & Gloom
————————————

This wasn’t the post I was planning on making today… the original plan was to post a photo from my 2021 road trip out west, but… as I was going through the photos I regretfully discovered that none of them turned out the way I had hoped…

Last night while randomly scrolling through my photos from 2018 I found several shots from a Chicago visit that I thought were okay. Spent a little time playing around in Lightroom and… well kinda fell in love with this one.

Some things I always seem to forget and constantly need to relearn:
Rarely does anything ever go to plan.
Learn to live with mistakes.
Sometimes things have a way of working themselves out. taken in Chicago Downtown by @decemberdevil

Good Omens
Featuring @fashix.x

————————————
Good Omens is a novel co-written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaimen mixing Christian mythology with comedy and adventure. It was recently adapted into a TV series for one of the many steaming services… I never watched it so I don’t know which one. The story centered on an angel and a demon collaborating on a scheme to prevent the apocalypse… I think. It’s been so long since I read the book. I can’t remember the details only that I liked the story, and I thought it would make a nice title given the parallel to this photo series - me being the devil / demon, of course... The end.

So this was like my 4th or 5th attempt at a caption for these photos - none of them hit right. Previous attempts ranged from song lyrics to biting sarcasm to a failed attempt at profound spiritual and religious commentary.

And this is what you all get. A poorly written, non-researched story synopsis about a book I read in high school. I’ll try to do better next time. ✌️ by @decemberdevil

Audience of None.

It’s been over a year since I’ve made a post, so I’m sure the Instagram algorithm is going to show this to zero people. Decline in engagement and finding ways to game the algorithm are some of the main reasons I stopped posting (I even wrote several paragraphs about how I think the “algorithm sucks” and social media culture is a brainwashing popularity contest, but it came across as a little too rant-y… imagine that…).
Instead I’m going to edit myself and focus on the fact that posting and sharing my work to the public, as well as being a part of this platform and community at one point used to bring me a lot of joy. Here’s hoping it will again. If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading. Happy New Year! taken in Detroit, Michigan by @decemberdevil

Of all the photos I’ve taken, I think this one makes me feel the most. And all I feel whenever I look at it is loneliness.

Just clownin’ around with @hannah.denike after the @rawdetroit #revengeoftheclowns event a few years ago.

I swear I have more Halloween-themed images I can share that aren’t from this event. I just need to get around to editing them. Those of you who now me are likely aware of this struggle... 😅

Halloween isn’t just a holiday or a season. It’s also a lifestyle. Happy hauntings, kids.

“We are all just prisoners here, of our own device.”

And now: The long awaited “Life update”I teased in my last post...

Nothing’s changed. I was just burnt out. Okay there’s a little more to it than that, and I could go into detail but... nah.

Life Update: To those paying attention, you may have noticed I haven’t posted anything in several months.... (I was going to go into a long explanation why, but now that I think about it I’ll save it for my next post. In the meantime just enjoy these pictures of Taylor.)
