Misplaced Matter Records presents a raw and relentless 6-track EP from Liverpool-based producer @decibelplace_ . The release combines peak-time energy with driving techno and deep, hypnotic, fast-paced dub aesthetics.

Beyond four original cuts built for the dancefloor, the package features two contrasting remixes. Swedish DJ/producer @maraxe_official brings his high-energy production style into play, delivering a percussive, driving rework. In contrast, Misplaced Matter label owner @silentsevir offers a hypnotic techno interpretation, a deeper, more melodically vision that rounds out the release. This project marks another bold statement for the Misplaced Matter catalog.

Decibel Place is both a DJ and producer based in Liverpool. His style focuses on the raw, gritty, and rolling nature which pays homage to the sounds pushed by techno artists in the late 90s and early 2000s. Being no stranger to the scenes in the North-West, Decibel Place blends sounds both old and new in his performances and productions whilst working with local talent on the dancefloor and on label releases. He is ecstatic to showcase a slower and more minimal side to his music on his podcast with Rogue Puppet Records.

𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇𝐘 | 𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐁𝐄𝐋 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄

This first instalment of a 3-part mix series opens with a blend of grandiose synths, establishing a driving nature that moves throughout and into darker and more broken techno explored in the middle section. This then opens up into high energy tribal beats before an epic climax of reemerging broken techno and dramatic synths.

The second instalment offers a different side to Decibel Place’s sound. The beginning avoids the typical 4/4 kick pattern found in techno and showcases a blend of broken, gritty, industrial sounds. Before returning to more traditional kick patterns, the mix moves from techno to breaks and even electro sounds. As the energy is picked up again through brooding and driving synths, the mix moves towards familiar tribal and hardgroove percussions and closes with high energy that Decibel Place knows best.

The finale of the Triarchy series incorporates the various elements sprinkled throughout DP’s previous podcasts. Without the clear-cut sections displaying the diverse range of genres, he instead spreads these elements out across the entire mix. Broken rhythms, tribal percussion, gritty industrial textures and dramatic synth work intertwine throughout, creating a constantly evolving journey that reflects the full scope of his sound. Serving as both the climax and conclusion to the Triarchy series, the mix brings together the energy, tension and atmosphere explored across all three instalments into one final driving and immersive experience.
