Half crown, half quarter cut. Every panel of Allegro carries both, mixmatched, so the grain shifts rather than repeats.

Left raw, it doesn't ask for lacquer to hold its own against green marble and brass. The wood does that work on its own.

Trends came and went. She was not impressed.

Decades of style have made her fearless rather than refined. Bold colour, bigger opinions, zero apologies. Her interior doesn't whisper. It is rich, layered, unmistakably hers.

So is Shinnoki Pure Walnut: unapologetic, intriguing, distinct.

Real wood, real you. Discover more in the Shinnoki Lookbook.

The wall does the talking here.

@miesinterieur turned a full wall of the dining space into open oak storage using Querkus Allegro, mixmatched so no two panels repeat the same figure. Left raw from the factory, the oak was oiled on site in a soft 5% white. That choice keeps the wood honest: every knot, every shift in tone, stays visible instead of being masked by a heavy finish. The result feels lived-in from day one.

What happens when design brings us closer to nature?

That was the question at Nature of Space, where architects and designers came together to explore biophilic design from different perspectives.

From Cédric Dethier’s keynote on natural principles in architecture, to Studio Zorro’s case study at Nature at Work, the conversation moved from ideas to the decisions that shape real spaces.

And with @modulyss_official, @wearedeltalight, @natureatwork.be and @_polywave, we brought together different perspectives on how materials, light, nature and design can work together.

A morning of ideas, conversations and connections at @thehub.eu Brussels.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their expertise and made the conversation possible.

Dark wood is usually a mood. Smoked Walnut is a decision.

The grain runs deep and directional, set against Calacatta gold marble and raw boucle. Nothing here is loud. The warmth sits underneath, the way it does in a room designed to be lived in slowly.

Milk Oak against a seaside view. Understatement done right.

For interior designer Jacob Goetghebeur of @goetstudio in Ostend, Shinnoki Milk Oak became the calm backdrop that lets warm, minimal architecture do the talking. The tone stays quiet. The grain still adds richness. The sea outside keeps the spotlight.

Jacob treats veneer as more than a finish. On large surfaces and custom cabinetry, it becomes an architectural material in its own right, keeping the natural character of real wood with far more control.

A law firm lobby that doesn't feel like one.

@hoknetwork specified Shinnoki Frozen Walnut across the reception and lounge areas of @orrickcareers New York offices. The warm, honey-toned grain softens what could easily read as a standard corporate fit-out. Panels, seating walls, and cabinetry all carry the same surface, so the room reads as one gesture instead of a patchwork of finishes. Prefinished with a six-layer matte varnish, the wood takes daily foot traffic and client meetings without a mark.
