Bogey Hole.
Yesterday I sat for an hour watching powerful waves crash over the rails and into the ocean pool, they were some of the biggest I’ve seen over the years.
Blank canvas and a beautiful afternoon on the last day of winter, I couldn’t not make a painting of it 🌞

A couple of months ago, I bought an incredible artwork of the Bogey Hole by the very talented @belindadoreyart Belinda paints the most stunning water scenes from the Newcastle region - take a peep at her work.
Thank you for the inspiration 🤍

Kimberley.
This painting is from a memory with my beautiful friend Kim.
Watching the late afternoon skyline on a drive from Healesville to Melbourne in 2021. Kim works at Healesville sanctuary in Victoria caring for and protecting Australian native animals.
This painting is a reminder of those dear friends that feel like family 🤍

🌑☀️ Grass Trees ☀️🌑
This piece is reminiscent of countless late afternoon train rides from Sydney to Newcastle - ancient grass trees in the sunset.
Fun fact, these incredible trees can live up to 450 years! 🤓

On my way home yesterday I remembered that I have the most brilliant art store just two blocks from my house. I must have spent an hour drifting finding new shades of ink and buttery pastels then rushed home to try them out - I’ve missed this feeling! ✨✨✨✨ taken in Newcastle, New South Wales by @deebee_art

Hi friends! It’s been a hot moment but I’m back to it 💃🏻
For a while there I had fallen out of love with making art, the idea of sitting down to a fine line ink and watercolour work doesn’t excite me like it used to.
Over the past few years I’ve really enjoyed moving in the direction of abstract art, there’s no planning and you can’t predict the outcome when there is texture + an array of media going on - and that is just so freeing 🌱
I created this (what turned out to be) moody aerial perspective Australian landscape-esqu big boy for my dining room a few weeks back. Made on a textured canvas with a mix of structured acrylic, high flow acrylic and oil pastels.
Hope you like it ☺️ taken in Newcastle, New South Wales by @deebee_art

☀️ Had such a blast at my first Newcastle market over the weekend! ☀️ It’s been a whole lotta fun and putting myself out there again and taking the time to create. Thank you to everyone who came and supported me and the countless other incredible makers Markets on the Green had to offer 🤍 taken in Mayfield Bowlo by @deebee_art

Hey friends!
Here is a painting I absolutely loved creating yesterday afternoon. I added layers of texture to both canvas’ using Multi Purpose Filler and a little spatula, then crossed my fingers and ‘went for it’. 😅
The very reason I loved making this piece is that I had no clue as to how it would turn out - just a series of intuitive shapes and squiggles that I filled in later on. Take a peep at the process on the next swipe. 🤍 taken in Newcastle, New South Wales by @deebee_art
