Yesterday, 1411 Thornton got the spotlight. Today, it’s the people who made this one so special.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with this family over the years, and helping the next generation find a home of their own has been especially meaningful.

I love a dinner reservation. But lately, I’ve been missing a different kind of invitation: “Come over for dinner.”

A few friends, a good meal, and a conversation that lasts well beyond dessert. No elaborate menu or perfectly set table required.🍽️

It comes up when I’m showing homes, too. Beyond the small details, I’m thinking about how a space works for entertaining… From how many people the dining room can seat to where friends can gather before dinner.

A few days in Maine with Aaron reminded me why people love fall. Changing leaves, cooler air, and an actual reason to wear the sweaters that spend most of the year waiting patiently in my Houston closet.🍂

I love a place with four seasons. I also love knowing I can enjoy the scenery, take a few photos, and head home without preparing for snow.

Houston’s 90 degree October days may test our patience, but I’m still partial to a city where outdoor living is part of life throughout much of the year. Morning coffee on the terrace, dinner on the patio, a quiet afternoon in the backyard, and access to your pool 365 days a year. 🌞🏊‍♀️

This latest addition to my art collection has earned a place in Dee Dee’s Little Black Book of Favorite Things.📓❤️

I spend a lot of time helping people find a home that feels right. Choosing what goes inside deserves that same personal connection.

When it comes to art, my advice is simple: Choose something that inspires you. The piece you keep thinking about after you leave. Don’t worry about where you’re going to hang it (yet).

I recently added this piece by @kallamcguire from @crofthousela in Los Angeles to my collection. I love its texture and movement, and how it brings its own personality to the room. And Bandit seems quite happy with our newest addition, too.😉

After years of walking through beautiful homes, the ones that stay with me have something personal about them. Art, books, pieces collected along the way. Those details make a house a home.

I love a mature tree. The shade, the privacy, the character… some of the best curb appeal takes years to grow. 🌳

But even the most lovely landscaping can come with a little behind the scenes drama.

Here in Houston, trees, thirsty soil, and our wildly inconsistent weather can be a complicated relationship. And sometimes, what’s happening below the lawn deserves as much attention as what’s happening inside the house.

That sticking door or new crack? Worth checking out. Automatically blaming the oak tree? Let’s not jump to conclusions.

4010 W Alabama and 5541 Longmont are pending, and I’m excited for my buyers who are under contract at 1411 Thornton and 5034 Tangle Street. Meanwhile, 3822 Lake Street is officially on the market and ready for its next chapter.

Aaron and I snuck away to Steamboat last weekend for two days of fly fishing with friends. Blue skies, fall colors and a wardrobe that doesn’t usually make an appearance at my showings.🎣
