THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU thank you to everyone who came and supported me in mirage city during field of vision, thank you to the community for being so welcoming, thank you to other MC vendors for being so inspiring and yapping with me lots, thank you to @headhauntshow for being my day 1 friend and gizz bootleg travel buddy (can’t believe it’s been over 10 years since we met!!!) thank you to @kinggizzard for being the best band in the world 🐊🩵

i am still processing this FoV and how inspiring, fun and rewarding this years festival was!!! i flew out from nyc with 1 checked bag of camping supplies and my carryons full of ceramics i was guarding with my life and set up the most minimal version of my booth i ever have and never expected the amount of incredible support and encouragement i received as a mirage city vendor this year. :’)) i have no words for how grateful i am for everyone’s support!!!!!!!! this weekend truly reminded me of why i make art in the first place and why this community is so important to me - the energy and inspiration i felt from everyone fills my heart up completely and pushes me to keep going and to keep making and i am now rambling but truly so so so so grateful for you all.

ALSO - i promise i will make way more pottery for next year!!!!! i will become a ceramic making machine and so many mugs will be made yall wont even know what to DO with all of the mugs ☕️ major apologies for those only making the nyc shows - i sold out of ceramics but I will have some stickers, magnets and prints left for between $3-$15! :-) i’ll be vending on friday & sat at the @weirdo_swarm meetup but will probably pop in tomorrow anyway to say hi to everyone !!! hope to see you there <3

THANK YOU FOREVER FOV AND KING GIZZ AND THE COMMUNITY and see you baddies in queens (and welcome to my borough heheheee 😛😛😛😛)

i have gotten questions at every fair i’ve vended at about my process and wanted to share a little video about it!! 🌷 it’s much more simple than it seems, it’s just a lot of painting and scratching away!!

👉sgraffito carving tools by @diamondcoretools

didn’t film the glaze process this time but i use HF-09 zinc free clear also from amaco!

i hope when i get a tripod i can film more of the process details, its kind of hard to carve with just one hand 🫣 by @deeirdree

Dirtbag Member Highlight | Week 2

Meet Deirdre 👋🏼

She’s been doing ceramics on & off for about 2.5 years! She also makes illustrations and puppets!!! 😩🥹

At the studio you can find her sippin’ on boba tea🧋 and dreaming about traveling around Ireland 🇮🇪 where her family lives!

Pink 💞 is her favorite color and she tries to utilize it in as much of her art as possible.

When she’s not at the studio, Dierdre enjoys going to see movies 🍿 🎥 and is a *HUGE* #letterboxd fan. She also loves reading 📖 on her kindle (currently reading Project Hail Mary).

She is a stepmom to a chubby baby kitty 🐱 named Tsuki but used to have rats 🐀 which influenced her in such a way that 70% of the little animals she makes in her art are rats!!! #ratsummer AMIRIGHT?!

Fun fact: she always keeps a little calico critter in her bag with her 💞 (because why the heck not?!)

What she loves about #dirtbagarthaus 👇
“I love the community at dirtbag and how encouraging the community is to all levels - I jumped into the studio first in 2023 a few months after opening and only about 8 months into my ceramics journey and was welcomed with open arms as a beginner, and I don’t think I would have been so encouraged and supported anywhere else!!!”
