I don’t even know how to do this. I don’t know how you say goodbye to your best friend when you never thought you’d have to.

Paris, I loved you more than I could ever put into words. I’ve never been this heartbroken in my life, and I wasn’t ready. I don’t think anyone could ever be ready to lose you.

Everyone who ever met you fell in love with you instantly. You just had that way about you. You were the best dog anyone could ever ask for, but you weren’t just my dog. You were my family. My boy. My shadow. You were there for me through everything, and now I have to figure out how to live with you not being here.

I keep thinking I’m going to hear you walking around or see you laying in your spot. I’d give anything to hear your paws one more time. I’d give anything to hug you one more time and tell you how much I love you.

You were my niece and nephews’ bodyguard. You loved your uncles Chris and Cardall, your grandma and grandpa, and your Aunt Crystal and your uncle Tony. You had so many people who loved you, and I hope you knew just how much.

I wish I could’ve had you forever. I really do.

But if loving you this much is what it costs to eventually lose you, I’d still choose you every single time.

Thank you for the best years of my life, Paris. Thank you for every memory, every laugh, every hug, and every time you were there when I needed you.

I hope wherever you are, you’re finally running around with no pain. And I hope somehow you know that your dad is going to miss you every single day until I see you again.

Please watch over and make sure I’m ok.
