One year ago today, February 3rd, you left us.
I still go back to that phone call we had just a few days before you passed. I was at the gym, and we were both so happy. It was just a normal, good conversation—the kind you never imagine will be the last one. I think that’s why, even a year later, I still don’t believe it. My mind is still waiting for the next call.
This month used to be a time of nothing but celebration for our family. With our brothers' birthdays on the 10th and 16th, mine on the 12th. But now, it’s just heavy. Especially the 13th, your daughter’s birthday.
It’s so painful to see your smile and hear your laugh reflected in her, knowing you aren't here to hold her. It’s hard to celebrate any of us when the person who brought so much light to this month is gone. February will never be the same.
