2 different sharks making very similar approaches. No 1. We have Scarlett an absolute unit of a tiger shark, one of the largest we have here in Hawaii and she is super pregnant right now which just adds to her size. As much as I love head on photos they don’t do the size of these animals justice. Both of these photos no touch was necessary as they came closer about 3-4 feet out they turned off without any flinching or fast movements. just two curious animals checking each other out close up.

when I grow up, I want to be a shark

sharks are often misunderstood, but they are absolutely essential to the health of our planet’s oceans. These incredible creatures play a critical role as apex predators, maintaining the delicate balance of marine ecosystems. They act as the ocean’s natural clean-up crew, preying on the sick, weak, and old, which helps to ensure the overall health and strength of fish populations. This process is vital for preventing overpopulation and protecting marine habitats like coral reefs. The presence of sharks indicates a thriving and balanced ocean environment. Without them, the entire food web can suffer drastic consequences, leading to ecological imbalances that would affect countless other species and ultimately, us. They are a cornerstone of marine biodiversity, and their well-being is directly linked to the well-being of the ocean itself. Despite their crucial role, the statistics are alarming: an estimated 100 million sharks are killed each year. This unsustainable rate of decline is pushing many shark species towards extinction and severely jeopardizing the health of our global oceans. It’s imperative that we advocate for their protection, support conservation efforts, and work to change perceptions about these magnificent and vital animals. The future of our oceans depends on it.

Straight into the eye of the tiger 🐅
-
People often think that tiger sharks and great white sharks have “lifeless black eyes” in many pictures that is how they appear, but if you ever find yourself looking straight into their eyes you will see a whole other world. There is so much more to these animals and they are certainly not lifeless. They are beautiful, radiant and breathtaking.
-
Been dialing in the multitasking and staying on the camera while these big animals cruise close.
