Pufferfish

من الأسماك الانفرادية غالبًا، وتميل الأسماك البالغة منها إلى البقاء بالقرب من الملاجئ والشعاب، وتتغذى على الإسفنج والطحالب واللافقاريات القاعية. ويمكن أن يصل طولها إلى نحو 60–65 سم.

الأسماك المنتفخة ليس لديها أسنان عادية؛ إذ تندمج أسنانها لتكوّن أربع صفائح قوية، تشكّل فمًا يشبه المنقار.

They are generally solitary fish, with adults tending to stay close to shelters and coral reefs. They feed on sponges, algae, and benthic invertebrates, and can grow to around 60–65 cm in length.

Pufferfish don’t have ordinary teeth. Their teeth are fused into four strong plates, forming a beak-like mouth. by @deepbound_

وسط منطقة تلاشت معظم معالمها قد تجد بقعة لازالت تتمسك بالحياة بالمرجان والأسماك لتكون مشهدا حي لا يعكس الواقع المحيط، وكأنه أمل للبقاء.

وفي منطقة هادئة لا توحي بشيءٍ مختلف، وبينما يستمر العمل، تظهر هذه الأسراب بأعدادٍ هائلة، تتبعها أسماك البياض كمفترسات، لتصنع عرضاً يخطف الأنظار ويغيّر مجرى الغوصة ومزاجها بالكامل.

In an area that gives no hint of what is about to unfold, and as the work continues, massive schools of fish suddenly appear, pursued by white trevallies as predators, creating a breathtaking spectacle that completely transforms the course—and the mood—of the dive. by @deepbound_

جزيرة هبان، إحدى الجزر المميزة في مدينة الوجه.
تتغيّر تضاريسها وأعماقها بشكل لافت من جهة إلى أخرى، مما يجعل كل زاوية فيها تجربة مختلفة.
وبحكم محدودية الوصول إليها، ما زالت تحتفظ برونقها الطبيعي وتنوعها البحري الغني.

Lunar fusilier

These fish feed on plankton suspended in the water, which gain their energy from sunlight through photosynthesis.
The fish then convert this food inside their bodies into proteins and energy that help them grow, swim, and survive in large schools around coral reefs.

تتغذى هذه الأسماك على البلانكتون المنتشر في الماء، والذي يحصل على طاقته من ضوء الشمس عبر عملية التمثيل الضوئي.

So transparent it almost disappears in the water… 🫥🌊
Its glass-like body lets light pass through instead of reflecting it, making it hard for predators to detect. Especially when it moves in schools of thousands, flowing together as one perfectly synchronized mass

شفاف لدرجة أنه يختفي داخل الماء تقريبًا… 🫥🌊
جسمه شبه زجاجي يخلّي الضوء يمر خلاله بدل ما ينعكس، فالمفترسات ما تقدر تميّزه بسهولة، خصوصًا وهو يتحرك ضمن أسراب قد تصل لآلاف الأفراد ككتلة واحدة تتحرك بانسجام مذهل by @deepbound_
