There’s something particularly satisfying about finally welcoming an artist we’ve wanted to have around for a long time.
Grant has been on our radar since the early days of the series, and over the years we’ve talked about making this happen more than once. Different moments, different circumstances, and eventually the timing finally felt right.
For more than a decade, Grant has been quietly building his own world around electronic music. Through Mysteries of the Deep, the New York-based project he founded and continues to shape as a podcast, event series and record label, he has consistently explored music as something immersive and deeply atmospheric, with a particular sensitivity to mood, space and narrative. His approach has always felt less concerned with fitting into a category than with creating a place for the listener to enter.
That sensibility is very much present here. The result is a beautifully considered journey, spacious and immersive, moving with patience and a quiet sense of depth. There’s no need to rush through it. It reveals itself gradually, with plenty of room to breathe and settle into its own atmosphere.
And there’s more to come. Grant is also preparing the release of his first solo album under his new alias, fields & figures, forthcoming on Mysteries of the Deep. It feels like a fitting new chapter for an artist who has spent so much time exploring the spaces between ambient, experimental and electronic music.
We’re genuinely happy that we finally made it happen, and even happier to be sharing this one with you today. Enjoy!

It’s always a pleasure to have Material Object join us for another deeply atmospheric journey into strange and beautiful territories. Step inside and let it unfold.

Material Object is an electronic music project that has been exploring the meeting point between ambient, techno and experimental electronics since the late 2000s. Over the years, his work has developed a distinctly immersive language, moving between hypnotic electronics, abstract textures and psychedelic forms.
Alongside his own productions and live performances, he has collaborated with artists including Pete Namlook and Atom™, and has been closely connected to the world of the influential FAX label. His music has taken him to clubs, festivals and experimental spaces across Europe, Australia and Japan, including performances at the renowned Labyrinth festival.
Across a steadily evolving body of work, he continues to explore electronic music as a space for deep listening, movement and transformation.

"This mix had been floating around in my head for over a year. I knew the broad strokes but took a while to find the connective tissue. Each mix that i make tells a different story, A story without an image. This time I wanted to take listeners on a specific journey starting in a single place, travelling through other zones, and winding up somewhere completely seperate from where we began. Travelling through an autumn in my mind."

To welcome the arrival of autumn, we're delighted to introduce the new Deep Breakfast mix by Jonnnah. An immersive and atmospheric soundscape, perfect for the season's crisp mornings and cozy afternoons. Let the sounds be your soundtrack to the first weekend of fall.

Lyon-based producer Jonnnah moves between dub techno, ambient, ambient techno textured and deeper forms of club music, exploring the space where introspection and the dancefloor meet. Founder of Second End Records, his music and mixes are driven by texture, emotion and a sense of narrative, shifting naturally between intimate listening and soundsystem energy.

A few words from Jonnnah:
"For this mix, I wanted to create something both contemplative and energetic, reflecting a moment of change and transition. Somewhere between tension and release, it carries the feeling of Saturn looming in the background, a quiet sense of upheaval, movement and transformation."

As the light begins to soften and the days slowly turn inward, we welcome Kontinum to Deep Breakfast.

Originally from the far north of Germany, he moved to Leipzig after two decades of wind and rain, where the sounds and atmosphere of the city soon became a strong influence on his musical path. In 2016, he began exploring atmospheric and dissociative techno, gradually expanding his palette from ambient and deep techno to more physical, club oriented and experimental sounds.
A long standing presence in Leipzig’s underground scene, he founded the Nebula collective in 2017 and helped shape its events as they found their place within the city’s club culture. From 2022 to 2025, he was a resident at Institut für Zukunft, while continuing to co-host the Aequalis events.
Across his work, he remains drawn to immersive textures, intricate rhythms and sounds that can feel both otherworldly and deeply physical. His productions have appeared on labels including The Gods Planet, 012 and Area127.

Somewhere between the last days of summer and the first breath of autumn, we’re very happy to welcome ophélie to Deep Breakfast for the first time. A beautiful moment to have her join us.

Originally from France and now based in Berlin, ophélie is a DJ and producer drawn to the fluid and unexpected sides of electronic music, with a fascination for low frequencies, intricate rhythms and rich textures.
Her music has appeared on labels including Pressure Dome, Early Reflex, Bait, traverse and hundert, while she has played at venues and platforms such as Refuge Worldwide, Kwia and CTM Festival. She is also a resident at Refuge Worldwide, where she runs her Therapy Dog series, creating space for experimentation and musical discovery.

A few words from ophélie:
"After a busy summer, I am glad to enter the autumn season, one of my favourite times of the year. It's always a good time to refocus and reflect on what's happening in the world around us. While I feel incredibly privileged and lucky to travel and do what I love, it's important to pay attention to the grim times we live in, the rise of far-right, the neverending wars, and the climate catastrophes we witnessed this summer and that seem to arise increasingly often, from the summer heatwaves, to the huge forest fires in the South of France where I'm from, to the flood in Nepal. And I also need to acknowledge that some of my travels might contribute to a deteriorating climate crisis globally, and that's definitely something I want to think about more. I love ambient mixes and recording a mix is always a form of journaling for me, so I was really happy to record this mix at this time of turning inwards. It's a good reflection of how I've been feeling recently, a mix of up and down moments, content and grateful for some of the things happening to me, but also pained and scared for the things happening in the world. I hope that this mix can convey all these emotions." by @deepbreakfastseries

DB/recordings : Skaph @ Dýchánek 2026

DJ and producer from the Czech Republic, based in Liberec, a city surrounded by mountains, Skaph blends hypnotic electronics with psychedelic textures and ritual elements. His mixes unfold slowly through deep grooves and immersive atmospheres, inviting listeners to turn inward rather than simply dance. As a producer, he is currently working on his first album, combining guitar and vocals with electronic music. He previously curated the CLCK Podcast and co-organised the community festivals Vyndaloo and Fúze.

Today, his main focus is Dýchánek, a small ambient and chillout festival he created in response to the lack of dedicated listening-focused events in the Czech Republic. The name Dýchánek is an old Czech word for a small, relaxed social gathering, while also echoing “dýchat”, meaning “to breathe”. The festival takes place in a meadow surrounded by trees, with a single stage dedicated entirely to ambient, chillout and experimental music. The space is designed for deep listening, with carpets, mattresses, pillows and blankets, while a 360° sound system creates an immersive experience. Alongside DJ sets and live performances, the festival offers workshops, talks, yoga, meditation, sound baths and small rituals, all created by a growing community of artists and enthusiasts.

“As one of the organisers, I chose a less exposed slot on Sunday morning, but it was still magical. Watching people actually listen to music in complete silence, or even meditate to it, is far more fulfilling than playing dance music at ‘regular’ events. When playing ambient sets, I like to think of them as a trip and select music that, in my opinion, works well with altered states of consciousness, no matter which technique or substance is used to achieve them. In fact, the music itself can bring you into these states. I experienced this myself while playing at Dýchánek, and found the experience deeply healing.”

For this new episode of Deep Breakfast, we welcome Aöcram with a dark and atmospheric journey, unfolding quietly in the space between shadow and light.

Aöcram is a conceptual project as much as a musical one — techno that works on hypnosis and emotion rather than shallow impact. The artist embraces an integrity that unfolds with deliberate anonymity. Operating between Latin America and Europe, Aöcram moves as a producer, DJ and label head, with a body of work that sits squarely outside the churn of trend cycles. Since first surfacing on international lineups in 2017, they have become a familiar name at Berghain, alongside regular appearances at clubs across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Their discography traces the same arc of restraint and depth, with releases on Mord, Cocoon and Semantica, alongside a steady run of records on their own eponymous aöcram label — a platform for techno on its own terms. Across formats, the through-line is unwavering: a sound shaped by relentless immersion, devotional craft, and an instinct for music that demands to be felt on a visceral level.

"Ambient music has been profoundly rooted in my sound from the beginning. I find it fascinating how the same genre can embody such elegance — informed by discourse as much as by hedonism — and how an emotional catharsis can remain peaceful, unfolding through a constant flux of static change"

DB/recordings : Eònan @ Silence Please

Recorded live at Silence Please in New York City on May 15, 2026, Signals in Stillness is a three-hour ambient transmission by Eònan, shaped through patience, precision, and spatial awareness.
What begins near silence slowly organizes into harmonic constellations. Tones remain suspended in air. Low-frequency currents move beneath perception. Soft oscillations align over time.
There is no linear narrative. The structure emerges through resonance. Signals appear as shifts in density, in pressure, in light within sound.
Across three hours, the set expands and contracts like a breathing architecture. Drones stretch toward the horizon. Microscopic textures flicker at the threshold of audibility. Intervals form quiet geometric relationships in space.

The listener becomes a receiver.
Stillness becomes the medium.
Attention becomes the instrument.

A long-form immersion in frequency, coherence, and slow transformation.

DB/recordings : Moss M @ pos

Moss M has been growing since 2018, first taking root around Cologne before drifting into Dutch wetlands. Along the way, he expanded his research and sound practice into creative production across churches, nightlife circuits, and DIY contexts, while becoming part of Minimal Collective, a platform operating at the intersection of music, art, and technology.
Driven by a passion for form and space, he approaches music sharing through sound collaging. He builds biophilic and low-end-driven sets from field recordings, film scores, and other sound fragments, shaping them into gripping narratives.
Through these carefully calibrated arcs, he opens a patient space where thoughts can roam freely - to drift elsewhere or inward.

“26.05.2026
Summer in Amsterdam. It's scorching hot. The city is almost paralysed. Hardly any wind. People move from one patch of shade to the next. This day has always marked something for me. Not only because it's my birthday, but because it’s often one of the first hot days of the year.
A lot comes together that afternoon.
Three digital decks, one turntable. I'm playing for the POS crew at their cosy Cocoon event on the newly built sound system, a crew and space I've become close with over the past months. It's the first time I get to share my practice with them.
My mother is there too. It's the first time she's hearing me play. Somehow, in the past ten years, we never found the moment. This time, we did.
I start playing. I see close ones lying just behind me, resting with their eyes closed. The low end sends a shiver through me. Around us, people settle in for an afternoon nap, leaning into the heat fatigue.
Aquatic sounds, voices, acoustic elements, and field recordings find their way into the collage. A few transitions I've been waiting a long time to make finally happen. Others emerge in the moment.
I lose my sense of time. I get into a state of trance. I should drink some water.
When the applause comes, it brings me back into the room. People slowly get up, stretch, others stay where they are a little longer. The heat is still hanging in the air, but it somehow feels softer and gentle now." by @deepbreakfastseries

Combining viola, field recordings, and digital processes, her compositional practice finds focus in the convergence of environments, memory and sonic artefacts.

A few words from Mara:
"This mix is a reflection on collaboration. Every piece brings together two artists, exploring the unexpected spaces that emerge when different voices meet. Along the way, I’ve also reimagined my recent tracks Air Leak and Loosening My Grip, isolating the featured artists’ contributions and weaving them into new contexts throughout the journey."

Sometimes the most meaningful arrivals are those that have been quietly taking shape for years. Long before this mix existed, Entire had already been walking alongside Deep Breakfast as a listener, finding inspiration in the journeys shared here. Today, that quiet connection finds its own voice. We're truly honoured to welcome him to the series.

Entire (Filip Olszewski) is a music promoter and sound artist from Wrocław. Around a decade ago, fascinated by the darkness and minimalism of the emerging halftime Drum and Bass wave, he founded Come Meditate - a YouTube channel dedicated to promoting and sharing some of the most interesting music found deep in the underground. In recent years, his output has been primarily focused on experimental narrative projects self-published through his Bandcamp, and his growing love for all sorts of ambient music can be heard both in his productions and in Come Meditate’s Sonic Spells mix series, which Entire curates.

A few words from Filip:
"Just like my most recent release, Kolaps, this mix is an attempt to paint a sonic and emotional picture of what was going through my head and happening in my life during 2025. The back-and-forth between grief, confusion, derealisation and carelessness, joy and love. I think it’s also an expression of a big, big “thank you” directed towards the Deep Breakfast series itself, as a long time follower. Last but not least, there are plenty of pieces in here that I adore as a sound geek, from producers I’ve become a huge fan of over the recent months and years."

It is a great pleasure to welcome Victoria Mussi to Deep Breakfast. We are truly happy to share this special moment with an artist whose sensitivity and vision have deeply resonated with us over time. For this mix, Victoria reveals a more introspective side of her vision, crafting an immersive experience where every detail has its own space and meaning. A journey that invites attentive listening, quiet reflection and a deeper connection with the emotions carried through sound.

A few words from Victoria:
"Recorded on a warm Sunday morning over a cup of coffee at my studio in Asunción. This mix brings together some old and new favorites from artists I love—music that inspires me and puts me in a calm, meditative mood. I hope it can be there with you in a special moment, whether for introspection, reflection, inspiration, traveling, dreaming, or sharing it with meaningful ones."
