What happens when design, development and production are connected from the start?

Our Thailand team works with an established apparel manufacturer with more than three decades of experience across knit, woven and denim production.

The facility operates across a wide range of categories, including T-shirts, polos, woven shirts, dresses, skirts, jackets, swimwear and accessories, with capabilities covering product development through to finished garments.

With around 800 employees, 650 machines and a 32,000 m² production area, the operation is built to handle different product requirements while maintaining detailed quality controls throughout the process.

From raw material checks and lab testing to sewing, finishing, packing and final inspection, quality is monitored at different stages of production.

The facility also places focus on responsible manufacturing, with initiatives around worker wellbeing, recycling, waste management and environmental practices.

For Deepwear, the advantage is having our Thailand team on the ground, working directly with manufacturing partners and helping brands navigate development, communication and production locally.

The factory is important. So is having someone there who knows how it works.

A winter accessory may look simple. The production behind it isn’t.

Our China team works with a specialised manufacturer focused on knitted and winter headwear, developing products such as beanies, balaclavas, knit bucket hats, winter caps and scarves for fashion brands.

The factory supports more than production. Its capabilities include material selection, sampling, custom knit development, colours, labels, packaging and different yarn and fabric options, allowing brands to develop accessories around their own specifications.

From an initial concept to the finished product, the process is coordinated through a specialised production setup, with the flexibility to develop both established styles and more customised designs.

For Deepwear, having a team on the ground in China means brands have direct support throughout this process. Our China team works closely with factories, following development, communication and production rather than leaving brands to manage everything remotely.

Specialised manufacturing + people on the ground. That's where the difference can be.

What stands out is the integrated approach: creative development and technical production working together under one process.

For brands looking at Turkey as part of their manufacturing strategy, this is the kind of on-the-ground capability worth knowing about.

Shibori, Indigo & Handcrafted Textile Techniques in Thailand

Some materials stand out because of the process behind them.

Based in Chiang Mai, this Studio works with handcrafted textiles using traditional Japanese shibori techniques, manipulating fabric through stitching, binding, folding and compression before dyeing.

The Squiggle Tote is one example: indigo-dyed cotton with textural embroidery and a cotton canvas lining.

The shibori process involves hand stitching, tying and binding the fabric before dyeing, creating the tonal variations, irregular patterns and texture that make each piece distinctive.

For brands exploring distinctive textile development, techniques like these offer another way to build texture, colour and material identity into a product.

At Deepwear, we’re always looking at the capabilities, techniques and materials that can open up new possibilities for brands. taken in Thailand by @deepwear

What makes a bag feel simple when so much goes into making it work?

A well-designed bag is not just about how it looks. Every detail has a purpose.

The Pathfinder Tote is a good example: two carrying options, top handles, a detachable shoulder strap, zip closure and multiple internal pockets, all integrated into one functional design.

For brands, these details are where product development becomes important. Materials, construction, hardware, functionality and production capabilities all need to work together before a product reaches the market.

This is why understanding what is possible on the manufacturing side can make a difference from the very beginning of the development process.

At Deepwear, our global teams work across design, product development and manufacturing markets, helping brands connect creative ideas with the right production capabilities.

How much can a few millimetres really change?

More than you might think.

A small difference in measurement can affect fit, grading, sampling and consistency across an entire production run.

That’s why the details matter long before a garment reaches the production floor.

Clear specifications, accurate measurements and direct communication with the people making your product can prevent costly corrections and keep production moving as it should.

At Deepwear, we stay close to the process and work directly with our manufacturing network across multiple countries, giving brands greater visibility and control from development through production.

Leather & PU production in Guangzhou

For leather and PU bags, production capacity is only one part of the equation. Development capabilities, sampling and production scale all play an important role in bringing a collection from concept to finished product.

This Guangzhou facility works across OEM and ODM, with integrated design and R&D. Its sample room has 20 workers and develops around 1,000 new samples per month, while four production lines support a reported capacity of 100,000–120,000 bags per month.

For brands developing at scale, having strong sampling capabilities alongside production capacity can help create a more efficient path from design development to bulk production.
