Things are escalating. Our Alabama State Organizing Manager, Dee Reed, is being removed from the Alabama State House for standing up against attacks on Black political power.

Alabama lawmakers are already moving to redraw maps designed to erase Black representation and dilute our voices. We will not stand by while our communities are silenced, ignored, and gerrymandered out of power.

Black voters built this democracy, and we will fight to protect our right to be seen, heard, and represented. We are showing up because our power is not negotiable.

God is so amazing that when the walls did fall, they didn’t crush His people. Yesterday was mayhem, but we must remain steady in what God said and let our shout be translated through OUR voting in November.

To the #Birmingham foot soldiers of 1963 and our Freedom Manor seniors who stood ten toes down yesterday - thank you, we are forever indebted to you.

One article called the protest “unusual” because of where it took place but these are not usual times and where we show up ++ how we show up matters more than ever.

Everybody’s march around the walls will look different, but we all have to march somehow. Because call me crazy but I don’t think yesterday’s flood was by happenstance I believe God was reminding us that there is STILL a power seated higher.

We got us - cause He got us.

ExperiencED supernatural release, divine alignment, and doors opening that no one could shut. I figured I’d go ahead and write my December 31, 2026 post TODAY because I believe God is going to do all of that and so much more this year. 🏃🏾‍♀️

Last night @pastormikejr said and I quote:
“There are doors God is opening for you this year
- that you didn’t knock on
- that you’re knocking on
- that you knockedED on.”

And because this is the year to BECOME … I can only imagine what the years that follow will look like. 🤯 Somebody asked me after church if I wanted help removing the glitter from my hair. I said nah - leave it … because I’m not dimming, shrinking, or hiding this year. I’m shiningggg all 2026.

At @essencefest, we celebrated what happens when communities come together with joy, purpose, and a shared commitment to building power. Our neighborhoods are where we organize, connect, care for one another, and create the new nation we want to see.

I know I always start by saying I have a lot to say … but I really can’t help it. God been doing A LOT. 🤷🏾‍♀️

In college I said I wanted to change the world. And literally every day I get the opportunity to do that.

The last four days felt like a dream. Not just for me, but for the thousandsssss of Black folks who came together to imagine and experience what a new nation could look like.

For a moment this weekend - we caught a glimpse of it.

Our activation was more than a blvd it was a community built by Black hands (s/o to Black women ). It was a neighborhood rooted in love, we had team members who sat outside on the porch, music filled the streets, the Word covered us, and arms embraced us.

We didn’t just celebrate our resistance we also found rest and restoration there. Everyone was safe, seen, and celebrated. A nation in a nation.

To the biggest, baddest, blackest organization in the world - @blackvotersmtr thank you. Thank you for believing that more is actually possible and for doing the work to build it every single day.

Now, on to November. Let’s go, Alabama. ✊🏾

There is something special happening in Alabama and across the South, y’all. And it’s being led by the young men from PKS who showed up last week to canvass.

By folks like JoAnna, who led a phone bank training on her own for the very first time at @civilrightsactivistcommittee and who will be leading another one tomorrow (cause even on the 4th we’ve got work to do).

By my incredible colleagues like Ida + Julian who I watched today connect with more than 5,000 people about POWER.

And by so sooooo many people across our communities who, like Nehemiah could have chose comfort but instead answered the call to build. We ain’t coming down.

There’s a great work ahead of us and we’re ready. Let’s build. 🧱
